Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- JorisGreeuwAmsterdam, The Netherlands69 contributionsFirst of all it is a challenge to run to the top as fast as you can, enjoy the few (do not forget that part) and than run as fast as your legs can carry you down.
Do not forget to treat yourself to a nice coffee and apple pie once you did this :-)
All kids love this place, for adults it is a good training.Written 27 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stefan LAmsterdam, The Netherlands229 contributionsAn exemplary information center, providing all the services one can, would and should expect. This is where you should start before exploring this wonderful nature reserve offering dunes and forest.Written 21 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Margaret BGreenbelt, MD710 contributionsWe went on a sunny, brisk day in March. It was beautiful and wild and not crowded at all. We wandered around the dunes and spent time on the beach. Gorgeous!Written 23 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MrtnVgtVoorburg, The Netherlands104 contributionsRide here through the beautiful dunes. At the end of the track you find a large parking place where there is always space, even on the busiest days of the year. As soon as you enter the beach you will see that it is very wide and very easy to find a place. If you walk a few hundred meters further you will have the beach almost to yourself.
At the beach entrance there is a restaurant and a lifeguard station. Further to the south you can find a catamaran and a windsurf club. The locals are friendly to strangers and gladly help you get going if you want to have fun on the water. You have to bring your own gear though!Written 28 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is managed with care by the volunteers, who are very open to share their knowledge with you. I often buy pancake flour from the mill which is of good quality - taste even better knowing that preserving history. Once your visit is complete at the Kijkduin windmill, try the "Bruin van der Molen" bread at Bakkerij Mol, which uses the Kijkduin's flour!Written 31 July 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands5,752 contributionsEarly 1600s council houses like the one in Schoorl emerged in many smaller places in Holland. Very simple in design and just one room, sometimes a prison is attached. The council members were usually villagers who dealt with local issues on a part-time basis. They served the community. Taxes were kept to a minimum. Sharp contrast to what the situation is nowadays.Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert ORotterdam, The Netherlands5,752 contributionsThe Dutch reformed church of Schoorl was consecrated in 1784. The gothic style building appears modest, more worrisome I found the bronze monument in front. It depicts 12 crusaders carrying what looks like sticks (but are palmtree branches). The sculpture dates from 1986 (sculptor Ellen de Groot) and is based on a painting by Jan van Scorel (Schoorl's most famous 16th century son). Most historians regard the crusades as conquest of foreign lands under a religious pretext. Not something to be proud of.Written 5 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
