The climb to the top is strenuous, but you will be rewarded with terrific views of the Pamlico Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the surrounding area around the lighthouse and Buxton.
I would highly recommend anyone visiting Hatteras Island to take time to visit this historic lighthouse and landmark.It is beautiful, peaceful and amazing!!
