Matt the tour host was extremely down to earth, knowledgeable and knew how to have a good laugh with us on tour. - Mark A6 contributionsRight as usual open and honest feed back from me: 1. Positive - Dive Centre team very friendly and accommodating. 2. Negative - Wanted extra money for pick up and drop from hotel, even though they literally drive past it. 3. Positive - Price $100 per person 4. Negative - advertisement of 4 hours and plenty of time to snorkel off the island was not true as no snorkel time was given. Total trip approximately 5 hours which included meeting at Dive Centre, driving 20 minutes to and from the spit, 1 to 1.5 hours at Wave Island. 5. Positive - Safety first approach 6. Negative - Small boat so asked not to take towels, tops with you causing it to be a cold journey home for the ladies (I took mine and glad I did). 7. Positive - 1 instructor for 3 divers 8. Negative - As per other reviews, very cloudy and you are not deep. 9. Positive - Good for first timers. 10. Negative- No need to take lunch as advertised. Overview: Perfect for beginners - especially at the price, but don’t expect to see much or clear waters. Would recommend for anyone who wants to see if they can do it before going out to the barrier reef etc, but if you have dived before you will definitely be disappointed. Could not fault the Dive centre team however, they were professional with a great sense of humour. The feedback from Maria at the centre will be about the water and hearing the skipper say you cannot take bags, but you can take towels….As I mentioned I took mine, but their was 8 other people on the trip that didn’t because of what was instructed to them and everyone mentioned this on the return trip. I am only guessing but if you get the bookme.com discount it seems you get the smaller craft and not the one in the photos. - Gaurav MSydney, Australia4 contributionsDid a surfing tour with Jody and had a blast! Not having surfed before, I was confidently catching waves by the end. Jody is an excellent surf instructor. He taught me good technique. He was invested in my progress whilst keeping it fun.
Also included day trips to coastal towns from Tweed Heads to Byron Bay. And stopped over for delicious lunches. It was a 10/10 experience. Their standard of client care was of the highest order and they both went over and above to make sure everything and everyone was taken care of. Safety was always paramount, and teaching seemed second nature to them. - Monique D2 contributionsI highly recommend Australian Surf Adventures! Jody was so easy to communicate with in organising our lesson. We were warmly welcomed by Mick who safely drove us to our surf beach for the day. We started our class with a yoga warm-up from Marie and then got straight into surf training. I was blown away at how the simple techniques they showed us had everyone standing within the first few tries! Although we were a group of 8 people we all received individualised attention and tips.
The team was so professional and friendly and I'm so glad we chose them to teach us how to surf! After this experience we will definitely be joining them on their Surf Holidays.
