Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our Group was cycling down the Waitaki along the A2O trail. We came across the River T Winery just past Kurow. From the road it looks sort of rustic, corrugated iron walls that made one think of a converted shed. We decided to drop in for lunch. Great decision because once you stepped inside we found ourselves on a veranda with gorgeous views across the vines towards the river and the Hunter Hills.
The very friendly staff, passable wines and an impressive sharing platter that ticked all the boxes of service, taste, quality and quantity.
The wait staff quickly produced beverages. We settled on the Platter for five and were not disappointed. There was a cornucopia of food including local cheeses and salmon.
    Upside
    - Great location
    - Friendly staff
    - Fine Food and beverages
    - Chilled out atmosphere

Downside - cant really think of one
Would we go back? In a heartbeat

Such a brilliant trek out with Peter! Even though I've lived in the area for a couple of months the scenery blew my mind and was great having a guide to explain all the native plants etc! Couldn't recommend this enough to anyone who can ride a horse! Susie was the perfect horse too thanks for a great morning Peter!

Kurow is proud of its heritage, and this small local museum is a great look at life in times gone by. The hydro development and the origins of New Zealand's social security scheme take prominence, but there is a lot more about the area and its history. Displays are nicely presented.

It's great that this is free: even a small charge would make people not bother, and the opportunity would be lost to share some stories of Kurow and district. Well done to the organisers.

Driving on the other side of the lake going to Benmore creates a different perspective and experience of the lake. Must try!

A great oasis with wonderful Valli wines and good beers. Andrew was the perfect host. As a bonus Grant Taylor was there to chat with. Couldn’t have been a better experience.
