Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Joseph our driver was very accommodating. He was an accomplished driver and at no time did I feel unsafe. The country side was beautiful and I would recommend this tour, even though it was a lot of driving!!

I'm from England, staying with my daughter & son-in-law in New Zealand. While we were in Christchurch they arranged for me to go on this small group (?about 18) day trip. Our driver gave a commentary not only about the places we passed through, but also general info about NZ. She was very enthusiastic & knowledgeable. She & her colleague were happy to chat to us individually especially at the stops. We were a friendly bunch from quite a few different countries. We had a small pack of nibbles & drinks provided when we got on (early start). But after the café stop, when we got back on the bus we each found on our seats a bag from the local Fairlie baker with a generous picnic lunch. We stopped at Lake Tekapo & visited the delightful Church of the Good Shepherd & saw the Collie dog statue, both connected with local sheep farmers. At Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park we had plenty of time for a short walk, e.g. to the Tasman Glacier, see the mountain & go to the visitor centre. Some of the group transferred here to the Cooktown tour. The 12½ hours passed very quickly. I thoroughly recommend this excellent day out.

Stunning scenery! Dani was a very pleasant and fun driver/guide. The weather was beautiful. However, the recommended trail was a highway of ppl. Would have liked a different option, more challenging, and hopefully, not a crowded! Mahalo.

After an unfortunate mechanical issue with our bus which meant we were delayed in leaving, our first leg of the journey was fabulous - Will, our guide, was knowledgeable and professional and kept us moving while still recognising that we wanted to see everything and get all our stops. The three of us moving on to Queenstown were well catered for and those returning to Christchurch were told the return time of the tour would be extended to account for the delay. Our second guide, Sinchan (Mt Cook to Queenstown) was also very knowledgeable but was quite a scary driver, speeding often and several times cutting corners which meant we went onto the other side of the road. Spectacular scenery the whole way along - a great way to see NZ without having to drive it yourself.

Fantastic tour with Brent. We got a little goody bag with some NZ treats which was lovely. Brent was really informative. Gave us lots of information. He was very clear about how long we had at each spot. We also got lunch included which again was very yummy. I had a great day.

Just do it buddies ! Great coach, driver Stewart who knows so much of the land and history and geography. His discourse on the way was so educative. The drive is scenic beyond imagination. Photography is a must do. Many stops on the way. For washrooms, lunch, shopping and much more. Mount Cook and snow covered ranges, blue waters, Shepard’s church, ode to collie dog, and look out points. Never seen such beauty and maintained wonderfully. Kudos!

A fantastic experience and wonderful service. Our driver and guide, Anuj, took good care of us on our trip to lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. His commentary and local knowledge was appreciated, as was his flexibility in moving the schedule around owing to a change in the weather (making for some stunning views). The journey makes for a long day, but the transport and company makes for a comfortable ride. I highly recommend NZSI tours and would use them again.

We booked this tour because Christchurch was our next stop after Queenstown and we wanted to make the most of our trip. We did this on November 8 and Stuart was our driver (with Mike as a translator for the Japanese tourists). They were a good fit. While Stuart was a good driver and quite full of interesting information, it was difficult to hear him sometimes (low talker) as he could be a bit monotonous on occasion. In contrast, Mike was lively, energetic and quick to laugh. This is a long trip and we were sidelined by road closures putting us a full 30 minutes behind schedule. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at Aoraki/Mt Cook, we had to scarf down our hot lunch just to have enough time for a 30 minute hike. 30 minutes was nowhere long enough for this scenery. We wished we would have stayed the night at the Hermitage and continued on the next day to take advantage of the INCREDIBLE scenery and because this was a LONG drive. The lunch was good, not spectacular. All in all, it was a very good tour.
