What a lovely beach with the sound of the waves crashing/rolling in - we'd not been here for over 25 years. Believe it's been voted one of NZ's best beaches - we can see why.

One stop shop for all your berry needs! That’s what we are looking for.
Facilities are excellent and comfortable from the hot summer sun. Staff is also friendly and helpful.

A refreshing walk even in the rain.
The open trail of Kiwi bird statues along the way were interesting starting from an egg to fully grown.
The wetland walk and the parks made way to a different sheltered walk. Due to covid the little train ride was not going

Great walk with stunning views. They are currently doing track improvemts so closed some days between now and early May but we went early enough and it was open. Well worth the steps for the spectacular views!

a nice pit stop for short time towards driving Whakatane. the surrounding is pristine and clean. Nothing much though except for the beach and wooden piers.

We did a freedom kayak but we were well set up with a map and route where we would see the best wee views and potentially see some marine life! Was such a cool experience. These guys were great at helping us get into the water, and super easy to deal with. Wicked area, wicked people. Thanks so much

We had an amazing experience. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The chicken run was great fun, the gumboots on the fence are worth a visit on their own, and I drank the best coffee with water boiled in a billy. One thing I would question is the use of Trump as a dummy in the toilet; a less controversial figure might be more appropriate. Trump has a huge following in the US and around the world and this might be off-putting to tourists. To his credit, the guide was able to read moods and there were no ill-feelings on either side. He even helped to find my sister's cellphone after she lost it when we returned to the car, despite being later than closing time. If you want something quirky and a little different, give this a try.

Popped in for a yummy fruity icecream after our picnic lunch at Blueberry corner! A ritual that we've done now for the 4th year of our holiday at Awakeri hot springs! Great place to checkout wether you're on your own couples or a family! Check then out you won't be disappointed! 🍨🍧

I've been a few times up the river with the Kiwi Jet boat tour family and each time has been unique and exciting. The crew are amazing people that make you laugh and share their love for adventure and the trip up the river never gets old as it is truly beautiful. Great for all the family and friends. A must do around Whakatane !

A huge thank you to Flash for taking us on the Rotorua Highlights Tour. This guy knows his stuff! Extremely affordable, Bus is very comfortable and has you back onboard your cruise with time to spare. This is our second tour with Flash and will be the only tour operator we go with in Tauranga! Thank you Flash!

What made this trip so special was the friendliness and care taken by our guides. We were a charter group of walkers with a wide range of ability. What impressed me most was the patience of the guides in dealing with some of the elderly members of the group. It was a great day out and to see and hear so many saddlebacks was a huge surprise.

We did the seal and dolphin encounter yesterday with our three children. It was such an amazing experience. The Captain was very knowledgable and we felt very safe. The crew were some of the nicest and most helpful people we have come across. One of the girls took my daughter swimming on her back to see the seals, it was so magical for my daughter and very special. Thank you for an amazing trip. We are going to book again for next year

We highly recommend nikau valley horse treks. John took the time to teach us how to lead his horses and be confortable with them. This suited adults and also our 8 and 11 year olds. The trek was awesome and through varied terrain including forest and beautiful views of the valley and . It was also very reasonably priced. We will definitely come back.
