- John and Les CNew Plymouth, New Zealand376 contributionsWhat a lovely beach with the sound of the waves crashing/rolling in - we'd not been here for over 25 years. Believe it's been voted one of NZ's best beaches - we can see why.Written 19 June 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- DeborahClarksonHamilton, New Zealand206 contributionsThis is a good place to get a good view over Whakatane. You can get there easily on foot via the steps from Canning Street and following the footpath on Hillcrest Road.Written 25 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bob_from_the_bayWellington, New Zealand38 contributionsRose was the lady we talked to. She helped us with the name of a restaurant for our 41 st wedding anniversary. She rang up to see if they had room for us and booked a table. She also suggested the rail trail at Awakeri and the hot pools just around the corner.Written 1 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
