Travelling via Thames to Coromandel we made the short detour to this lovely spot.Shade parking.Honesty box on this day.Easy bush walks along side streams and many interesting plants ,trees, fauna and decorative pieces.A fairly easy walk up to the waterfall does involve steps.
BBQ tables and toilet facilities provided.Well pausing to visit this gem.

We went up the Pinnacles from the Kauaeranga Road carpark up the Webb Creek Trail. We stayed the night at the Pinnacles hut and then walked back to the carpark through the Billygoat Trail. The trail near the top had amazing views of the forest area around the pinnacles. It was quite scenic all around the area. There were also plenty of other camping and tramping options around the area.
The trails all crisis cross with each other so looking at the right trail for your experience isn't too difficult.

If you don't like dirt roads and windy corners don;t do this one. Okay to do once but not again. Waterfalls lovely and just a 5 minutes stop

Tour underground through part of an old goldmine. Gives a real feel of what it must have been like to be a miner. The ore extracted from the mine was then processed by a stamper battery. This crushed the ore to powder. The gold was then extracted from this powder. Volunteers have recreated a working stamper battery and all the subsequent processing used to extract the bullion. Our guide was an enthusiast who'd helped recreate much of the site.

There are ruins of stamper batteries all around Coromandel but this is the only one that works.

If 1200 year old forest giants are your thing you will love this. The walk is short but steep with close to two hundred steps climbing up the hill to the kauri tree. It is really impressive and well worth the little effort involved. Parking on the road shoulder is limited but all free!

It's a nice beach with nice views out to the islands. We're dog walkers, rather than surfers, and it's great to be able to take the fur buddies along.

There was a group of dottrels too, which was a bonus, but something to be careful about if you also have dogs.

Hot water is in the beach. It does what it says on the box.

Had a great experience, very laid back and cruisey atmosphere! Was great being able to walk the walkway in one direction. The bike ride was really scenic and we stopped for swims on the way back too. Definitely could not have bikes 30 km without an ebike! Would highly recommend 😊

This is a tough walk involving climbing (ladders, rock scrambling and a heck of a lot of stairs) at the end. Very steep in places and a lot of uphill. will take you 6 to 8 hours round trip. Bring a lot of water and/ or water treatment tablets as well as food. Nothing available along the way other than a few streams. Fabulous views are your reward for all that effort. Not worth it if the cloud is low.

Wished I had stopped in sooner. Received great advice here on walks, history and what was happening in the town.

It starts easy but already after a few steps you have the first stairs to climb. It is an irregular path which goes either to the harbour (keep left at the split/almost at the end) or Hauraki Rd (right).

Friendly staff greeted us on arrival, checked our vaccine passports and seated us promptly. The staff were so friendly and really made the experience a good one. The food was delicious and the wine was great. Some of our party also had beer and it was good to see local breweries supported. Our designated driver had a flat white and the option to get water was also handy. The pizzas were lovely and the platters were good for sharing. Definitely a great place to visit.
