Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Martin CCrewe, UK153 contributionsAbsolutely superb. Wonderful church. Superb local walks with not a lot of ascent needed and suddenly you are in 'Rohan', which, though it was not mentioned in LOTR, is a great area for birdwatching.
Hands down better than Queenstown.Written 12 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The first song was How Great Thou Art - sung with the congregation facing a splendid view of the lake and mountains - which wonderfully magnified the words of the song. Then congregants were handed a large inflatable globe and asked to point to where they'd come from - a wonderful way to share worship with people from around the globe. A minister did a short sermon, we sang a few more songs, prayed some heartfelt and relevant prayers, and were out by 5.00 pm. A wonderful experience.Written 29 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Grant NHastings, New Zealand1,519 contributionsWent reasonably early and judging from the queues when we left probably a good idea. The drive up and down is interesting with quite narrow parts making passing a bit fraught ( we had a large 8 seater which took up a lot of road). The view at the top is fantastic in all directions and well worth the trip. While there is a cafe there the prices are as high as the mountain and they're very busy without time to be particularly friendly. But it's all worth it for the views.Written 17 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Boyd JMaleny, Australia1,760 contributionsI found it pleasant spending 90 minutes in the hottest pool (38 degrees). My wife pool hopped several times into the two other heated pools on offer ( 36 and 37 degrees). It's relaxing.Written 19 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- bookwormKarinBiel, Switzerland216 contributionsUnfortunately, we couldn't do the whole circuit because of the strong wind. But a hike to the top of the hill is certainly a to-do if you're staying in or near Tekapo. An easy track that can be managed in trainers, with stunning 360° views of the whole lake area.Written 17 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NorthStar614878913571 contributionLove roundhill - easy to get to, never too busy, decent cafe and parking. Always a stunning view and the von brown bar at the top is great. Super friendly and helpful instructors and really well priced.Written 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Bear in mind, there are toilets at the Bridge town side but they are Pay Public Toilets.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand23,613 contributionsThe playground is located by the lakefront and is fairly large. It is located behind the four square so parking around there would be the best option. There are two main areas, One with the swings and the other with the flying fox. It was nice that there are seats available nearby, including a set of covered benches.
I was there early morning in winter so it wasn't busy but I'd guess it gets busier when the weather warms up.Written 6 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
