When you reach the top you have a beautiful view over the city and historical buildings and you can hear the main square clock melody while you take a walk true the castle park.
This is one my favourite part every time I go visit Esslingen - whether at noon, at night, you get such a great view on the region!

The palace is also well lit into the night which gives a beautiful view of the palace.
