Great easy stroll looking our for the sculptures on the way. No kids here but we enjoyed doing this anyway and cleverly done. Only takes about 30 minutes and added some fun to the day. Google forgot to tell me it was opposite the main carpark to the rest of the walks so just a bit of a hold up finding it.

Brilliant walk for on your own, with friends or family.
Take a water bottle with you, especially if taking young children.
    The views are amazing.

Went to the thermal pools on Saturday in February and the facilities were fantastic.
The pools were well set out and the bathrooms clean with a great amount of space, changing rooms and showers. There was even a little machine that dries your bathers! And the moisturiser, shampoo and conditioner were a good quality as well.
The cafe on site as well had good coffee and the prices were reasonable.
However, where this park excelled in what it offered, the staff were less than impressive. Almost every staff member we encountered seemed like they would rather be anywhere else (the barista being the exception) thus making them unapproachable.
What made me write this negative feedback was the lack of safety concern on the slides. There needs to be a staff member at the top of the slide to ensure guests are being at least somewhat safe and sensible as they embark on the ride. One instance occurred as my mother and I went to slide down one of the tube slides but the two teenage boys who went before us got stuck, on purpose, the bowl part of the slide. Had we not noticed this, we would have slid down on the green light that appeared and run right into them. We had to wait for at least two green lights for them to clear. The lifeguard at the bottom of the slide seemingly did not pull these boys up (she was busy chatting to a male friend who was sitting next to her). However when an older man went down in a tube by himself - she did go over and pull him up on this. Whether she missed the boys or whether she was intimidated (as we all are!) of the moronic teenage boys, the lack of consistency was not a great show.
On the single tube slides as well, we witnessed multiple sets of said teenage boys going in as pairs down the single slide. These boys were also engaged (they were busy) in doing backflips into the lap pool whilst the lifeguard stood and watched.
Basic safety needs to be a higher priority.
Also, we came on a Saturday when a car show was in town and upon entering, only one register was open causing a long queue to enter.
So again - we had a great time and would recommend. However the staff concerns do need to be addressed before something happens.

We as a family went here on labour's weekend in last year. The weather was pretty miserable so at least there weren't many people around.

However there were many animals and being able to get up and close to most of them was awesome, and being able to pat or feed them was even better. The whole layout of the site was really nice.

Heaps of parking available and cheap entry as well which was awesome. Definitely recommend this visit to everyone who visits Hanmer Springs, it's on the main road just before you enter the township.

Cool spot and really tidy course. Course seems to be very well maintained and great to have plenty of seating and stops along the way for the hotter days.

It has to be done. You must experience it at least once. It is a beautiful part of the country. If you can get hold of a good 4wd, you must do it.

    Warning:
It is a 4WD road. Do not expect it to be smooth. It will be bumpy and hairy on some spots. NO, don't bring your shiny city SUV - you will need a proper 4WD with high clearance. There will be several fords and a possible river crossing.

The toilets are long drop toilets - bring your own hand sanitizer (and maybe toilet paper). There are no restaurants or cafe along the way so bring your own food. Take your rubbish with you.

It is the wilderness (and part of farm) - there will be animals and animal droppings.

But the view is stunning. Take your time, enjoy and truly soak it in.

Hired a mountain bike (dual suspension and drop seat) for 4 hours. Bike was in good working order and operated well on the advanced tracks up in the forest. Next time will bring own MTB shoes with cleats. Received great advice on where to go. helmet and backpack were also excellent condition and part of the cost.

I love history, so these buildings I find fascinating. The grounds are (usually) peaceful for a walk and the bushes stunning depending on the season.

Didn't visit the area for skiing but had an interesting ride up the 4WD track as far as the snowline in the family 4WD. Great views...very peaceful...only saw 3 or 4 other vehicles during the 90 minute duration of our drive in and out. A few stream fords to cross and some marginally challenging hairpin bends...The latter stages of the "drive" zig zagging up the mountain are possibly not for the faint hearted but in reality are still a pretty safe drive. Expect to spend some time cleaning your 4WD when you get home!
