Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great fun in the snow! Super helpful & friendly staff throughout the venue. Well worth a visit; the tubing is very enjoyable for all ages. Top value also. We’ll be back!

We walked just up to the Wanaka Lookout. It's a steep walk up stairs which are my bugbear. My benchmark walk is Key Summit. A long steady but comfortable gradient up into the sub-alpine area with no stairs. Admittedly we didn't go up to Rocky Mountain but we couldn't see how the views would be any better for the effort. It passed a couple of hours.

What a great day. Debs was an amazing guide. The horses were well trained and are suitable for absolutely any level.
The views of Central Otago were absolutely stunning.

A wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.

Such a warm and cool place. This is not your ordinary cinema. There is a good vibe and staff are so friendly. They show all kind of movies. But the thing we loved the most is the freshly baked cookies during the break with a hot cup of choco. Make sure to reserve them! The chocolate one was our favorite!

This was an amazing, heart pounding, exhausting adventure, not for the faint of heart. We did level 3, an all day climb 1400ft up.
It is the same tour for all 3 levels, they just stop at different points.
Our main guide was Yasmin, cool as a cucumber, very encouraging and supportive. Toward the end I started having doubts about being able to finish. Yasmin, inspired us to keep going.
Unlike our crazy(awesome) guide, I can't imagine doing this climb more than once. Knowing a helicopter takes you down off the mountain was very helpful.
Thank you to farmer Charlie, and owner Matt, for making this climb possible. Think our other guide, equally cool dude, was Dave(?) They deserve a HUGE raise!!

The High Country Pub Trail with Kel was absolutely amazing. I really had so much fun. We cantered a lot, which I appreciated a lot as an experienced rider, plus there is this beautiful scenery with lupin flowers, sheep, cows and deers which is just breathtaking. Kel is a great guide and I really liked her great energy. During the trek, she told me a lot about the history of the place, which I found very interesting. Dembe was such a lovely horse. I have to say that it was the best riding trek I've ever had so far. Thank you so much for this great experience, dear Kel!

I am so glad we booked the Glacial Jet experience! The Jet Boat was fun, the walk was short and interesting and the helicopter ride one I will remember for my lifetime!

A rugged off-road farm tour that takes in a little bit of everything Wanaka has to offer. Stopping for awesome views over the Matukituki River, before continuing through farm land spotting sheep, deer (including a fawn!), cattle and horses, we always felt safe with the friendly and capable driver as they took us on the tour telling us all about the area with amusing anecdotes about the farm and its occupants.

My two teenage daughters (15 & 17) and I were on a four-hour tour which seemed to go by in no time at all, with something different to see around each corner – we even got a couple of ‘Wows!’ from the girls along the way.

The highlight for me was finding peace on earth when we stopped for a picnic lunch upon the hill top, with stunning views of Lake Wanaka in all directions, not a breath of wind and near complete silence, while watching the activities on the lake way down below. I could have stayed up there for hours… but if I had, I would have missed out on seeing the equally interesting historical ruins of some of the original settlers on the land which added an unexpected aspect to the tour.

Highly recommend going on this tour.

Southern Rivers Fly Fishing is FANTASTIC...they really know their stuff! My wife and I fished with Erica and she gave us great shots at some of the largest wild trout we've ever seen. We had so much beautiful water to ourselves and did not see another angler the entire trip. Jake helped organize an excellent itinerary and arranged our lodging in Wanaka. It was a nice place and conveniently located near the town center. He also made himself available and answered all of my questions, which made it easy to put our trust in him, which was important since we were travelling from the USA. He took excellent care of us, even for such a short trip. Without a doubt we plan to return and fish again with Erica and Jake, but this time we will make sure we stay longer. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an authentic NZ fly fishing experience. It was amazing!

Had great afternoon with Deane in his Citroen, visited 3 vineyards/beweries, stunning scenery & beautiful day. Deane was the perfect host/tour guide. Would thoroughly recommend this personalised wine tour. An awesome Xmas present from our son.

I had been eyeing up this activity for 2 years and finally got to do it.
We just did a 30min scenic tour this time, and I loved it! I loved it so much it felt like it went fast so I need to do it again for longer next time, or maybe the wine tour option. The knowledge of the area was great, and we were blessed with a beautiful summer day to enjoy the stunning scenery with.

Jake organised a fabulous 3 day itinerary for our group of 25. Each day was varied, on time and we felt we were in very competent hands. Jake and Pete drove us around in mini buses, picking us up from our hotel in the morning, made sure the arranged activities happened and then after dinner each evening took us back to our hotel.

Their skills were quite vast - cooking venison steaks and crayfish to perfection on bbqs, as well as providing other local food specialties and salads; arranged helicopter trips (and Pete flew the helicopter!), Highland Park experiences and jetboat rides. We felt very safe.

The highlight for us was the day with 4 hour helicopter ride from Wanaka to glacier to west coast beach to Milford Sound to another snow landing to view over Wanaka and finally to dinner at Cardrona Hotel. What a blast. And then Pete and Jake drove us home from the Cardrona Hotel in the minibus later in the evening. This came after the jetboat ride up the Matukituki Valley.

    We would thoroughly recommend them.
