  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an excellent trip with options to stop off at a salmon fishery/cafe en route as well as hike the Hooker valley track if you are so inclined. Important information is included in the trip notes (of particular relevance if you are hiking up the Hooker Valley). You get to see a number of sights en route including Lake Pukaki (with all of its vibrant blue hues), as well as getting a good view of the mountains as you get closer to Mount Cook (if the cloud is co-operating). A comfortable van makes for an easy ride.

We hiked on the Tasman glacier. Absolutely beautiful but you need to be in shape. The guide Pavel was outstanding. The bus driver Sarah was informative and delightful.

Mt. Cook, Hooker Valley Tour was quite breathtaking at points. The only downside was that the views of Mt Cook itself were poor due to the weather. You can’t control the weather though so make the best of the still stunning views. Iveta was an experienced tour guide who told us she had lived in New Zealand for (I think) 17 years so she had a lot of great local information and a fair few jokes along the way to keep the mood light and fun.
The highlight is the hike. It’s probably more of a slightly challenging walk if anything. We had three hours to complete it and I used about 2.5hrs and was seriously taking my time for plenty of photos on the way back. If it is wet, buy a poncho at the stop prior where you have breakfast for extra protection and wear wet weather clothing. Puddles can form on the path too so if you have waterproof shoes, that would be ideal. You don’t gain much elevation on the hike and you’re walking approx 11km there and back so for me, heat was not an issue other than I was too hot. The other stops were nice but the main event is definitely the hike. very glad I did it in wet weather, absolutely worth it. Try not to be deterred, the path is clearly marked and easy to navigate. Thanks Iveta for the recommendations and info you shared for Queenstown too

We had an incredible time exploring Mt. Cook. Georgia, our trip guide, was consistently helpful and full of valuable insights. Traveling by van was smooth sailing, with Georgia's driving skills leaving us with no concerns. The scenery along the drive was absolutely stunning, and the helicopter ride to the mountain's peak took our breath away. This trip is undoubtedly worth every moment.

Johnathon was a careful driver - he was courteous and told us a few things of note at the viewing points. The van was clean and comfortable. Cheeky was easy to book with and we would use them again

After an unfortunate mechanical issue with our bus which meant we were delayed in leaving, our first leg of the journey was fabulous - Will, our guide, was knowledgeable and professional and kept us moving while still recognising that we wanted to see everything and get all our stops. The three of us moving on to Queenstown were well catered for and those returning to Christchurch were told the return time of the tour would be extended to account for the delay. Our second guide, Sinchan (Mt Cook to Queenstown) was also very knowledgeable but was quite a scary driver, speeding often and several times cutting corners which meant we went onto the other side of the road. Spectacular scenery the whole way along - a great way to see NZ without having to drive it yourself.

A fantastic experience and wonderful service. Our driver and guide, Anuj, took good care of us on our trip to lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. His commentary and local knowledge was appreciated, as was his flexibility in moving the schedule around owing to a change in the weather (making for some stunning views). The journey makes for a long day, but the transport and company makes for a comfortable ride. I highly recommend NZSI tours and would use them again.

The team at Mount Cook were so professional and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure I could skydive for the first time on my birthday at short notice. They were so safe in their practice and the easy banter got rid of my nerves within minutes.😁The views, the feeling, the rush and the pride following completing this was incredible. This was my first but won’t be my last skydive and that is thanks to Nick who was with me all the way on my tandem. A must do activity with the best team 😎🪂

This was amazing - what a wonderful location for my first ever jump from a plane (tandem jump). I wasn’t scared for a moment - the staff were so wonderful. If I can do it at my age - 66 and way overweight - anyone can. It was a perfect experience from start to finish and I never felt anything but totally confidence in my tandem mate - and seeing the mountains, lakes and landscape from way up there was just stunning! A huge thanks to everyone at Skydive Mt Cook - especially the young man I jumped with.
