- AllisonNew York5 contributionsAMAZING. Our stay at SkySkape was the highlight of our trip to New Zealand and one of the most relaxing getaways we've ever had. The "cabin" has everything you need and it's so cozy. And the view is extraordinary. We were lucky to have 2 clear nights--we woke in the middle of the night and could see a blanket of stars and the Milky Way! We had planned on taking day trips from there but ended up not wanting to leave at all. We hung out and watched the changing light on the landscape--so beautiful. And loved the outside bathtub. We ordered the dinner for our first night and had enough for lunch the next day too--I definitely recommend doing that since you won't want to leave. And the breakfast that comes with the stay is perfect. If you do go in to Twizel, we recommend Poppies Cafe for dinner--but make a reservation. This is such a special place that Bevan and Bridget have created and they couldn't have been nicer. We stayed 3 nights and we were glad we did; It would have been hard to leave after only 2. The tour certainly educated me about the state of the Kaka, and was very interesting and varied. - Mia J11 contributionsThis ride was one of the highlights of the year. The 350kms (without an E Bike) felt like quite an achievement. Jude was totally organised. Our gear was collected every day and delivered to our next stop. The bikes were perfect, accommodation great and great breakfasts and lunches. The nights when we had an evening meal were also fantastic.
The scenery was breath taking and quite varied. I'm not sure which was my favorite part of the ride as every day was brilliant.
