Go with lots of time to wander, look at birds, chipmunks and monarch butterflies and just enjoy nature.
There are numerous beautiful gardens and greenhouses with a wide range of flowers throughout the park.

One of the feature attractions in the park is a rock garden which is a tribute to TR and incorporates 'stones' from many 'chapters' of his life.
Much of the furnishings are authentic to the house and the park rangers guide you through with their interesting anecdotes and commentary about the Oyster Bay Roosevelts.

The history of the park is interesting, it is beautifully maintained and has some of the best views if you can walk to the mansion-on a clear day you can see across to Connecticut.
Wonderful park, walks down to the beach, cross-country skiing, beautiful every time of the year.

A treat for children and adults alike to be surrounded by nature and see and hear all that it brings to the senses.

Crossing over to the east side, there is a path (lake trail) that loops the east lake with a serene nature trail.
At the park entrance, they provided me a map and "what's on" information for this day, including some live music and which flowers are in blossom and where.
