What travellers are saying
- Anna F3 contributionsIf you fancy a good walk, I suggest parking at the marina and walking up Paku to the top. Wonderful panoramic view.Written 22 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- AucklandWizAuckland, New Zealand1,563 contributionsThis was a lovely beach. Easy parking and a short walk down to the beach. Some interesting history. Peaceful. A bit cold the day we went but could imagine a picnic on a lovely beach on a sunny day would be a nice day out.Written 12 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ChristineC_831Santa Cruz, CA280 contributionsWith a great staff, lots of fun things to consider as you gleen the racks of travel offerings, or just need help understanding the ferry from fill in the blank... fabulous resource to the community here. Next to the sweet library that offers a readers rack of books for a buck..been in twice, always nice.Written 20 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Nigel BWhangaroa, New Zealand559 contributionsGreat art from lots of local artists , simple presentation and not big but high quality work and very friendly staffWritten 5 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Daryl CDanville, CA1,015 contributionsThere are three hikes that leave from the South End Reserve (or Surf Beach Car Park) in Pauanui. The summit trail, Cave Rock and Flat Rock, and the loop trail. The Cave Rock and Flat Rock Trail leaves the small park at the edge of the water. It meanders just above the high tide line for a while. At Flat Rock, the locals come here to fish. Past there, the trail can be tough to find. Stay high otherwise, you'll face a time-consuming slog through cantaloupe-sized rocks. Cave Rock is about 1/2 further. The cave is really more of an enclave than a cave. But the ocean views are nice.Written 16 December 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lucinda J909 contributionsThe best crystal shop that I have ever been too so many crystals and fossils galore. We loved waking around and admiring all of the beautiful piecesWritten 15 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Voyager7354565 contributionsCarl Muir has it going on for his knowledge of the offshore ! With his expertise we were able to have the odds in our favor of finally checking off my bucket list fish / the Yellowtail , and the enjoyment of so many other tasty species . He went the distance (literally)
To make sure we hooked up. Also a master diver he led us to some awesome diving experiences. And to top it all off
Captain/ Chief Muir cooked up some scallops one evening and craw on the BBQ the next evening for us. Tairua and fishing with Carl was the highlight of our trip! If we go back to New Zealand we’ll be certain to fish with Carl again!Written 12 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - ChristineC_831Santa Cruz, CA280 contributionsNice shop with local knowledge and great service. Tanks filled and gear rental. Sell just about anything fishing centric. On the dock at Tairua Marina.Written 8 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Wayne BTairua, New Zealand56 contributionsFriendly, knowledgeable staff, who are very familiar with the local dive sites and conditions. A good range of hire equipment and air fills at competitive prices.Written 8 January 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Valerie DAuckland, New Zealand10 contributionsThis the boat was new and so comfortable. It takes 10 people so you get lots of personal info from Richie and Haysom. The alter man’s from a distance don’t compare to seeing them up close. There are so many nooks and caves. The water was crystal clear. These islands are uninhabited so are pristine and rugged.Written 15 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Lesley SWhangamata, New Zealand32 contributionsReally enjoyed my day there. Started with massage with Lisa, lovely room and massage.
Then went on to enjoy my hair being done. A great afternoon.Written 31 July 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
