Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For something different a sea view and fresh air from Brighton Beach. A nice board walk away from the madding crowds the promande has facilities and close to other Subway stations other than Brighton Beach and easily reached from Manhattan. If it's the amusement park you are interested in check opening times as they may be only open on weekends. Clean sandy beaches if have little ones.

Four of us attended one of the last performances of the Comic Book Theater Festival, a charming one-act spoof of the gangster crime genre. Performances were amusingly on the mark. Consider bringing a hand fan, as the space can be rather hot and stuffy. Seat rows are mostly raked well (row 3 and back), but avoid the 2d row or you may have trouble seeing past/around the heads of the folks in the 1st row. Great fun, though, and only 20 min. from mid-town Manhattan on the L train. Amazing what can be done on a shoe-string budget.

I took a friend on a second tour of this facility and was fascinated all over again. They offer tours, including free tours for groups of kids. Contact them at their website: simsmunicipal.com/Contact-Us

Here are some of the interesting facts on offer here:
    Recycling Facts

Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours.
It takes the same amount of energy to produce 20 recycled aluminum cans as it does to produce just one new aluminum can.
Producing recycled aluminum creates 97% less water pollution than producing new metal from ore.
Every three months, Americans throw away enough aluminum to rebuild the entire US commercial air fleet.
Recycling plastic saves 84% of the energy required to make plastic bottles from raw materials (i.e., crude oil).
Glass can be recycled again and again with no loss in quality or purity.
Three fourths of all American steel ends up recycled into new products and all of today's steel products contain recycled steel.
The typical appliance consists of about 75% steel by weight and is easily recyclable.
Energy requirements decrease 60% when using steel scrap to make new steel compared to mining iron ore and smelting it in a blast furnace.
Recycling one ton of steel saves 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone.
Automobiles are the most recycled consumer products, with large amounts of steel and other valuable recyclable materials, which have a recycling rate close to 100% – meaning that a car at the end of its useful life is not destined for a landfill, but for a recycling facility.

We were meeting Family for a meal and had 90 minutes to kill in Gowanus. We found the Wild East brewing company online and headed there for a look. Friendly greeting and quick service upon arrival. We both chose our preferred beers from the extensive list/menu and had a good chat with Robin and Brett who explained when and how they had started the business. Very pleasant guys who are very knowledgeable about all things beer related, be it local or worldwide. We will definitely be heading back here any time that we are visiting the area.
I would recommend the lucidity (table beer) which at only 3.8 ABV is really tasty.

My mom needed an big duffle bag to travel with golf clubs, and couldn’t find any. It was 4 hrs before her flight and we luckily found The Travel Store. They have EVERYTHING! And they saved my mom and her golf club.
Guys there are very friendly and didn’t stop till they found something suitable.

Successes: Really well done and nicely organized, with good displays of original product (including an entire automobile). The info cards/QR code explanations were cheeky and informative. Very helpful staff.

Failure: the space itself, although the exhibit used imagery and posters well to liven it up. The website promises a restroom in the building, although it was necessary to walk to another nearby building. Would have appreciated more clarify about parking and other logistics.

On the whole, an enjoyable visit. It took us slightly over an hour to fully appreciate everything on display. There was some attempt at interactivity, but mostly it was a passive look-at-object-read-about-it experience.

Area between the 69 Street Pier and Caesar's Bay Mall. Good for strolling or riding a bike during the spring summer months or weather. Great view of the harbor at the 69 St. pier.

I love browsing there, but is there a way to find out in advance of going there, if theyre open? Or are they always closed on rainy days? When you call, you get voicemail.

You know you are approaching Coney Island when you see the towering Parachute Jump on the Broadwalk.

Not operating as it was in the past as a ride, now it displays a light show especially in the summer time.

Originally part of the 1939 World Fair in Queens, sponsored by the LifeSaver Candy Company.

I remember watching my dad approaching it getting on it. Being raised to the top and then the parachute part opening up and my father gliding down like a real parachute.

I know many now a days would welcome the challenge to ride the Parachute Jump.

So we have to enjoy it as a Entertaining Icon Light Show tower.

So high, I can see it from the Shore Road Walkway in the Narrows near my home.

Great also to see the Summer Nights Fireworks Shows on the Beach by the Broadwalk and roam the Broadwalk.

Enjoy a Hot Dog, Cotton Candy, Corn on the Cob and the Amusement Rides that accompany the Parachute Jump along the Seashore.

Tucked away in the warehouse district in Brooklyn. Not as hip as Grimm but certainly good beers. Open vibe space with high ceilings. A tasting room with an bar attached. Bartender was nice enough to pour a couple of tastes to figure out what we liked. And tax is included in the 7$ per pint.

We went to a mid-week matinee performance of the play, Dot. I was a very moving production with great acting and excellent direction. On display in the lobby, the facility was adorned with a limited exhibition of paintings and multimedia creations in the vision of an African art tradition. We have visited this venue several times over the years and we will continue to patronize this cultural icon.

I was surprised to find this unusual church while wandering Brooklyn Heights. There are not many examples of such a parish. Art inside is just lovely.
