Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a lot fun here! The scenery is gorgeous, a vibrant community center, a great pier, and lovely nature. What a beautiful park offering incredible views of Brooklyn Bridge and the New York Skyline. Highly recommend!

Prospect Park is a 500+ acre public park in Brooklyn. It is near Prospect -Lefferts Garden, Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, South Slope, Crown Heights, and Prospect Heights neighborhoods. There are many wonderful places to visit-- a zoo, a botanical garden, a cycling course, and ball fields. It has Immense historical significance. The park is built on the grounds of the Battle for Brooklyn during the Revolutionary War. There is a monument to the courageous men of Maryland who gave their lives to protect the retreating Patriots soldiers as the British routed the Patriot troops. Survivors ended up on British prison ships near the current Navy Yard area. For me, a place of solemn remembrance.

There are great views and amazing vibes. There were lots of young people having picnics, playing beach volleyball, families enjoying the beautiful space and lots of dog friends.

This place has emerged as one of Brooklyn's interesting neighborhoods. It's still a bit out there away from Manhattan, and still off the beaten path, but it has definitely been discovered. Very diverse and interesting, food and beverage.

Looks great on a mid-spring day as the trees are in green and some blooming with flowers. Also some flowering bushes. Places to sit in the shade. Quite a few people taking advantage of the green space. Too much traffic going to and from the Bridge.

I can't believe it took me 2 decades of living in New York to discover this beach. I used to go to Long Beach which is lovely, but you do need to use the LIRR. Manhattan Beach is accessible via the MTA and far less crowded than any of the other Brooklyn beaches. When you're stuck in the city and desperate for some beach-time, this is the place to go.

This part is kind of unknown to most people. But if you go to the end of garritsen ave and take the beach and wrap around the water counter clock wise, you’ll find these cars. Some are hidden in the actual marshes and you’d need to explore some of the paths there.

If you’re in Red Hook stop by this park. It’s out-of-the-way and a little hard to fine but definitely worth the time. Nice little pier with great views of the Statue of Liberty. Even has a little sandy beach. It’s also a great place to walk your dog.

The park is a little hidden, so it is never terribly busy. It is a good place to view the skyline at any time of year. The surrounding area is pretty nice too. The bakeries are quite good (Riviera, Joe's, Peter Pan-big donut fans can you tell?).

I attended a beautiful baby first birthday party (many similar celebrations occurring nearby) held at a small fenced-in area that included a mini cannon! This spot, immediately adjacent to the Fort Greene Park Visitor’s Center with well-kept restrooms inside, is an ideal location for a gathering. Facing the Center is the solemn Prison Ship Martyrs monument (built to commemorate thousands of American prisoners who died on British ships during the American Revolutionary War). Aside from occasional walkers, joggers and bikers, the area felt quite peaceful and secluded, even on a Saturday afternoon.

We came here on a Saturday and spent time relaxing, watching a local baseball game. There are BBQs available if you fancy some outdoor cooking.

Tiny park with a hard court and restroom. Best known for the scenic Squibb Bridge which provides pedestrian access from Brooklyn Heights & Promenade, over the BQE highway, down to the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The pier is on the very south end of Rockaway Parkway in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn. Quiet place to fish in Jamaica Bay. No shortage of benches to sit on.
