Kyle talked about not only historical facts, but also details of the stories, characteristics and antiques of the founding fathers. After the tour, I now know which father was the cranky one, who was young and energetic and who was old and frail (physically), where they hang out and had a beer or two regularly, who were good friends and who didn’t care for each other as much, and so on. History is not only dates plus events - it’s real people with real feelings facing real world challenges. And that’s what Kyle showed us today. Loved it! - Cathy AMinneapolis, MN14 contributionsOur guide was Seamus and you can tell he truly enjoys what he does! From the moment he met us at the starting point, it was evident that he cared about interacting with his group and giving a lively tour. He spoke clearly and loud enough to be heard, despite the busy streets and the size of our group (perhaps 20?) Seamus started with background information on Pennsylvania and Philadelphia and the events that prompted the colonies to seek their independence. He interjected the right amount of humor and anecdote besides sharing his excellent knowledge of this period in American history! We were really impressed by Seamus and pleased to have chosen this tour. We were lucky to have him as our guide!
The only complaint is that $44 per person seams a bit expensive for a walking tour that doesn’t include any transportation or entrance to sites and exhibits. She was funny, informative, and clearly knowledgeable and interested in the content. Which meant she had a ton of descriptive info, and personality - which I really love in a tour guide. She also did a great job of keeping the energy up during the tour.
If you want a schlocky ghost tour, this isn't it. If you want a dry history tour, this isn't it. If you want a combination history/scandal/spooky experience, this is the one!
Also: the communication around booking, meeting, etc. was great. Awesome..easily understood guides.grt safe drivers. Helpful staff. We enjoy Shirley ar one of our trips..personable & helpful. Staff works really hard bw sure to tip downstairs.

We walked to several places around City Hall, sampling iconic Philadelphia dishes and seeing interesting landmarks. Owen was very knowledgeable and helpful. We not only learned about the places we ate, we also learned history of the city and saw amazing architecture. All the food was great and we left very full!
