An awesome little museum in midtown - you can see the personal library and home of John Pierpont Morgan Jr and the legacy and impact he had on Wall Street and the American financial system.

I've been here a number of times. The grounds and facilities are well kept. Decent vendors for refreshments. Plenty of security for large events. Restrooms could have been more tidy.

What a great venue! We loved it. We came to NYC (from Portland, OR) for 33 hours to see "Oresteia" and have some fun in the city - we'd been reading about the production in the NYT for at least 3 months, and wow, I'm so glad we did! The venue is incredible. Beautiful older building, great lighting, I wish we could have just hung out there for longer. Masks were required, which we appreciated, and proof of vax, too. And the location is great - we stayed at the Loews Regency, ate at Barbaresco, and went to the Armory, which was a perfect evening. No cab required, and plenty of time for a great meal, and a perfect play. Thank you to everyone at the Armory for making this such a great space for theater. Can't wait to come back.

I came by here to see a special exhibit of Stephen Sondheim's letters and work - it was well worth the trek to visit!

Always arrived at wrong time for any of the tours. However, the Library is welcoming and you can wander around quite a bit. Obviously the tour areas you cannot get access. Having seen a tour guide start her tour and still in the same place 15minutes later, put me off. One day I will get into the other areas. It is a pleasure just to walk around it. Also do admire the Lions at the entrance. The staff in the bookshop had no history about them but you can find lots of info in the small booklet 'The New York Public Library'.

Took the NY Bar Exam in this location. It was very spacious. Despite how many people where there, did not feel too hot nor too cold.

HERE IS WHERE WE GO. !!!!! Why? Because my/our human people we will feel the under the exhibitions FANTASTIC RESOURCES of Arturo. WHO WAS Arturo? A Puerto Rican Black man! He resolved to get this history so we can unite. Stop fighting between the oppressed. LEARN more. RESEARCH beneath the exhibits. Make appointments. Delight in the microfiche and all the possibilities to follow YOUR choices about Black s . I DID and feel Paul Robeson, he and other communists of color : Claudia Jones..from Trinidad that the usa exploited and Banned. WE CAN BE INSPIRED!

For my LIttle 10 year old cousin. He delights in going to the "SHOP". TOYS in blackness. Books for babies. Oh Titi look here he said we can play this.

I had chanced upon this series of bronze plaques which are laid into the pavement along E 41st Street (Park Avenue E 41st Street) leading up to the New York Public Library. Each plaque has a literary quote inscribed.

The best way to enjoy this is to sloooowwww down. Look down and stop. Read them one by one and if one speaks to you, take a photo.

If you are walking westwards from the UN headquarters or Chrysler Building or Grand Central Terminal towards Bryant Park or Midtown, I would suggest using E 41st Street for a different experience.

City Hall park sits very obviously in front of City Hall which is downtown Manhattan. There is also a visitors centre. Recommended.

This is the best place to learn about the current places to visit and the history of the island. If they're not open, just ride the nearby free red bus. The locals are friendly and most will advise you on what there is to see.

I love visiting the Grolier Club and always find their exhibits of interest. Their ground floor gallery is gorgeous following its renovation and the exhibits held there are always interesting, well put together and offer a wealth of information. Their second floor gallery is smaller but likewise offers a wide array of exhibits on varied topics related to books, publishing, printed matter. The Grolier Club is also always free of charge to the public.

Although you must be a member of this library to check out books, they do host lectures and other events open to the public. It's a lovely grand building and the children's rooms are most welcoming and attractive. If I lived in New York, I'd definitely join!

The Statue of Liberty Information Center has more appropriately been relocated to the new Statue of Liberty Museum next door. Same good service. Same fine people.
