Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The main attraction here is the amazing golden library of Pierrepont Morgan, and the adjoining study and rotunda. The library is absolutely breathtaking, and unexpected when you enter from the modern glass entrance. The Morgan also has temporary exhibitions on a variety of subjects and entry to the exhibitions is included in the $25 entrance fee. When I visited the main temporary exhibition was a V&A Beatrix Potter exhibition which I had already seen in London so I actually didn't spend very long here, but I would still recommend seeing the library!

I had a couple of reasons to visit the New York Public Library and I was grateful I did.

I tried to access the library from Bryant Park but this was not possible as they were getting things ready for the Christmas markets and there were pop up bars in the way so I went round the side.

The day I visited was wet and so I was glad to get out of the rain however loads of tourists had the same idea as me and they were dithering about and the staff were getting a bit frustrated as the tourists were not following simple instructions.

I wanted to go to one of the Reading Rooms to do some writing and was surprised at the large number of tourists that were wandering about but then I discovered the amazing architecture of the building and I could see why.

I spent a bit of time in one of the smaller reading rooms and the staff were happy to allow me to do this even though I was not a library card holder of a New York resident. Other people in the room had drinks out on the tables next to them and they were asked by staff to put them away.

I went into one of the other reading rooms and was blown away by the grandeur of these beautiful rooms, lined with books and study areas. There is also wifi available throughout the building.

If you do want somewhere quiet to do some studying then these are the perfect places to visit rather than the bustling corridors.

We visited the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts but on the day it was unfortunately not accessible. However it is worth a visit, even to walk around and just a have a look.

Went there for the NY auto show and it was very good. We were a bit disappointed that the restaurants on the lowest level were closed. The three food choices on the 3rd level were burgers, pizza or chicken fingers. There is also Starbucks and concession stands with snacks. Bathrooms are clean. I think there should be another
coffee spot since not everyone can drink Starbucks.

This review focuses on the historical tour of the armory.

They hold the tours generally every month, sometimes a couple of times a month. They are 25 dollars and at 11 AM.

Our guide, Grace, was knowledgeable and down to earth. It was interesting to hear about the armory’s different lives: a rich boy’s club for aristocrats to play soldier, later a legitimate armory, a crumbling relic, then back to life as a landmark and restoration project, as well as a versatile performance/event space.

The architecture varies from fully restored to arrested decay. The veterans room is their crown jewel and full of Tiffany glass and beautiful tile work. There is handsome woodwork throughout and a grand staircase.

On the second floor, the armory houses restored locker rooms from the original construction, where performers rehearse and artists in residence work.

Another floor is a women’s shelter, while yet another floor actually does house a national guard unit.

We got to see a stage being designed in the vast drill hall. I’ll be excited to see some programming here—they have everything from art shows to music and percussion pieces, historical lectures, and dance. The show coming up is a troupe of African dancers, which looks amazing.

HERE IS WHERE WE GO. !!!!! Why? Because my/our human people we will feel the under the exhibitions FANTASTIC RESOURCES of Arturo. WHO WAS Arturo? A Puerto Rican Black man! He resolved to get this history so we can unite. Stop fighting between the oppressed. LEARN more. RESEARCH beneath the exhibits. Make appointments. Delight in the microfiche and all the possibilities to follow YOUR choices about Black s . I DID and feel Paul Robeson, he and other communists of color : Claudia Jones..from Trinidad that the usa exploited and Banned. WE CAN BE INSPIRED!

For my LIttle 10 year old cousin. He delights in going to the "SHOP". TOYS in blackness. Books for babies. Oh Titi look here he said we can play this.

The Jefferson Market library is an excellent building from the outside but very run down inside. The gardens beside it are nice. Worth a photo of the facade.

City Hall park sits very obviously in front of City Hall which is downtown Manhattan. There is also a visitors centre. Recommended.

What a fun way to team build with my coworkers! We had a blast feeling like we were on a live game show. It was totally immersive with the wrap around projection mapping and the host was fun and engaging. I would highly recommend for groups!

The Roosevelt Island visitors centre is located just off the tramway. It’s really a great little piece of history and worth a visit.

A great pit-stop for whatever weather. Airy, beautiful views in the library where you can drink and eat within reason (no loud crunching but plenty of coffee sipping and sandwich munching). Pull any volume of poetry published in the past 50 years in the US off the shelves, plus plenty of foreign translated into english poetry.

Although you must be a member of this library to check out books, they do host lectures and other events open to the public. It's a lovely grand building and the children's rooms are most welcoming and attractive. If I lived in New York, I'd definitely join!

I love visiting the Grolier Club and always find their exhibits of interest. Their ground floor gallery is gorgeous following its renovation and the exhibits held there are always interesting, well put together and offer a wealth of information. Their second floor gallery is smaller but likewise offers a wide array of exhibits on varied topics related to books, publishing, printed matter. The Grolier Club is also always free of charge to the public.
