Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Would recommend this hotel if staying in New York. in a lovely area with lots of nice bars and restaurants.
Beds lovely and comfortable and rooms a nice size. They had a lovely heated roof top pool and bar , the bar was expensive for drinks, the view was amazing day and night, so worth a trip up. On arrival we had nice complimentary tray of fruit and some chocolates which was lovely...staff were nice and friendly.. would stay again when we return...which we will.. as our son-in law is from Queens...Look forward to seeing you in not to distant future

    Best spa appointment in NYC

On this small, beautiful street in the West Village is this gem of a destination. Tucked a step down from the sidewalk, this oasis only services two clients at a time. As you relax (you may fall asleep), the gifted reflexologist will work on your feet to leave you feeling renewed. And it’s in the best neighborhood in NYC for dining, shopping and strolling through NYC history. Book a session, honestly.

I have been having regular massages with Judy for some time now. She is excellent by far the best Massage Therapist I've ever had. She understands the body exceptionally well and where the issues are. I highly recommend her!

I’ve never had such an amazing massage and I’ve had afew! Visiting NY for 2 days on a business trip, this was a well earned treat and boy was it worth it!

At the premium end of treatments it was a premium experience. Excellent therapists, flawless service and gorgeous facilities. We could have stayed all day.

Ever since Ricky has being doing my cuts and colors, I honestly have not had a bad hair day in forever. Both the cuts and colors always look very natural and I don't have to wait a few days for it to 'settle in', and they last. Beyond the quality of his services, he's really pleasant and caring and fun talk to. In fact, everyone at Avalon are.

When the place has a crowded entry and front door massage area that is literally packed- there has to be a reason.
    It’s called a footgasm!!!
Without question the best foot massage I’ve ever had!
Get past the commotion and seemingly lack of organization and sit down and enjoy!!!! Your Massuese will introduce you to a sensation of relief that your toes ankle and calves will appreciate!
Worth the walk and simply worth the cost.
    Thanks!

The rating for my nail technician is 5+! The process took more time than is standard, however that is because the nail technician did everything right, the way it should be done. I so wish I asked her name, but I didn't. She was a kind and maticulous, young asian woman. Hoping she receives this feedback!

The rating for the remaining staff encountered is a 2. They were snobby and not interested in customer service.

This was different than most spa's I've been to. The front is unassuming but once you go down the stairs it's very lush. The changing room is a good size with robes and sandals for you as well as a steam room and other showers if you want to use them and plenty of lotions or basic items available. Then there's this waiting room that they've decked out to look like a belly dancer's lounge - it sounds way tackier than it is. Really good use of materials to make the space feel soft and deluxe while you're waiting. The massage was okay but we also went late in the evening (around 10:30pm) so maybe it was just that I was the last customer of the day. I think maybe my therapist was nodding off a bit, she used lighter pressure than I had asked for and she would pause periodically for no discernible reason. Overall I thought the experience was really cool. I try to never judge a spa based on one massage if the atmosphere is good. I will definitely be trying this again, probably for a facial.

This is one of the few YOga institutes that recognizes by having the BROWN bodies of the founders of yoga in the west. Satchidananda, Sivinanda, being 2 of them.
This is CLEAR YOU HAVE to be ontime, so aim for early early arrival....It's the policy and I agree NEEDS TO BE LISTED on site, if not already there.

    2. For teacher training they accept the voucher from Unemployment Insurance NY that gives the formerly employed, up to (can't recall) 2000 dollars in voucher.
    3. You can go for things online as well as in person and learn the spiritual reasons for all these poses and heavy physical transformation.

My wife and I had just stepped off the High Line and were looking for a place to have a coffee when we were invited in to the spa. Do you really do coffees I asked - yes was the reply, come on in. Is it free I asked as I was still a bit disbelieving. Sure - you're our first customers of the day. We waited for the hard sell - it never came. We were made to feel so welcome by Adrienne and Nikhira. All our poor experiences on arrival at JFK - not unusual it seems - the day before were washed away. These girls should form part of any visitor welcome programme to the States.

After a hectic days shopping nothing could relax and unwind you better than a Simply Spa 90 minute sampler! My friend and I had 45 mins of hot stone massage followed by a 45 minute facial and included mini manicure and pedicures.... absolute bliss! I booked the appointments from England and the level of customer service was brilliant, from the moment we got into our robes and slippers to getting our nails polished at the end of the day sipping wine. The only negative thing I could say is that it is rather hard to find as the sign is small on the street as it's on the 2nd floor, but basically it was a really affordable treat. Ask for Alisia, she was superb.

They call themselves a Wellness Center and just walking in the door makes you feel great. The Aura and the staff are great.
I saw the chiropractor who was absolutely amazing and made me feel like a new person. I then had a one hour massage like nothing I've ever had before. It felt like a comfortable homely place where everyone knows your name. They always have great massage package deals and specials.
