The options for going there and coming back was limited (there were more time slots before the pandemic). I also used their airport pick up and return. They don't come inside the airport anymore. So I went outside to search for the shuttle van after waiting inside for a good 15 minutes. I should have read the instructions but I had been taking the airport shuttle for 10 years before the pandemic. The return trip to the airport was 15 minutes early. We had a schedule that we asked for but we got more. When we had time to do more, Michael gave us options and let us choose. Nothing was too much trouble - we got more than we expected. Cannot recommend this small business professionally run with all health and safety issues important to him as well. We started out as a client and felt we were friends at the end. He’s like a walking encyclopedia as well. Whatever questions we had he had an answer. - millymabelAuckland, New Zealand110 contributionsI took this tour with my parents. We had done a circle island tour but wanted to spend more time on the North Shore. Mark didn't disappoint. His communication was top notch, from the first time I sent an enquiry through to taking the tour. When we set out Mark asked us what we wanted to see and made suggestions along the way. We loved seeing Pali lookout and the rum tasting was epic!
Mark had interesting tidbits to share along the way and we learned a lot. I particularly enjoyed seeing the stairway to heaven accompanied by Led Zeppelin and the other great song choices along the way! Seeing a bit more of Oahu in a convertible was awesome and I can't lie, we felt pretty darn cool!

Right from the get go, Jimmy was well organised with a cooler full of drinks and a friendly welcome. The tour was adapted to suit our personal needs with Jimmy offering suggestions to make the most of our day, from visiting well known attractions such as the Halona Blowhole, Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation to best best burger joint on the island- Teddy’s!
We loved hearing about the history of Hawaii and Jimmy’s passion for the Hawaiian culture.

What made this one especially great was the fact that our tour guide, Mike was an excellent historian of Oahu . He offered fantastic insite about all the areas we stopped at. We had more than enough time at each location we stopped at to explore the surroundings- never rushed ! - Nathan Fuller3 contributionsThis tour is amazing! Mark’s knowledge of the island is very deep. He knows all of the goods places to stop, and which ones to pass on. Most of the locals at the good places to stop know and appreciate Mark. He has lots of information about Hawaii both geographically and historically. - Michael B1 contributionMark was fantastic. He took us to places that normally would be difficult or unusual to get to and gave us as much time as we wanted at each destination. His knowledge of the island, the surroundings and the history of the people were amazing and fascinating and if we could have we would have extended the tour for longer. The cherry on top was the beautiful 4 door Chrysler 300C convertible that Mark had purposely modified to do these tours. Great tour. - Peter R1 contributionFrom the minute he picked us up Micheal made my experience fantastic, nothing was to much trouble and he bent over backwards to make sure we all had a magical day. I am a huge history buff and also an Aviation geek, my sister and the rest of the party not so much. Micheal organised for me to do all the things that I wanted to do and also made sure my sister and the rest of the group didn't get bored and got to do all the stuff that they wanted to do. Micheal is an excellent guide who knows the island well and knows all the ins and outs. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone that wanted to do a tour he is excellent in every way and will make sure you have a fantastic time and will work with you to make a tour that is personal to you. - Tara Dusko1 contributionMy family had the pleasure of using Michael and Halia Tours twice when we stayed on Oahu. We have two kids ages 9 and 13, and they also had a blast. Michael was on time and was willing to take us anywhere we wanted and wait as long or as little as we needed at each place. He knows the island so well, and all the tips he shared helped us make good choices for what we wanted to do each day. One really great thing about Michael was that he was super flexible. Having kids, we often had to make plan changes on the fly and Michael had no problem with anything and was always super accommodating. I just can’t say enough good things about this guy. He knows so much about the locations and history of Hawaii that I came away learning so many cool things about the places we visited. His recommendations for food and shopping were spot on. Add to that he cares deeply about the environment, culture, and history of Hawaii, and my whole family was impressed. But perhaps my favorite thing about our two full days with Halia Tours was how much positive energy Michael communicated. He is the type of guy you want to be friends with. Finally, Michael was so good with making sure he spent equal time talking and staying aware of all of our needs. He was so good with our kids. They just loved him and still talk about him 3 weeks later. My 13 year old son kept asking me if we can stay in touch with Michael after we go home :o). I don’t know when we will go back to Oahu, but hopefully it is soon, and the first thing we will be setting up is a few days with Michael from Halia Tours!
