What travellers are saying
- Chris MBasingstoke, UK31 contributionsWhat a great museum. The narratives really brought home how tough it was for the immigrants when they arrived in Greytown to clear the thickly forested land and build their homes. The building that the Trust have collected on the site are fabulous and along with the artefacts help visualise what life must have been like in the late 1800 / early 1900 in the developing Greytown. The Museum has a good collection of photographs from the period that help put into context the buildings that remain in the townWritten 12 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James WPerth, Australia327 contributionsAn easy paced walk on an all weather track walk from Greytown to Woodside Train Station about 10km round walk.
Beautiful countryside either side of the track.Written 17 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Neil showed us around, and was very chatty and an all round nice guy who had great enthusiasm about his gardens and animals.
It was just me and my partner, so we rang ahead and Neil was quite happy to guide just the two of us. If you're lucky, you'll get to meet the two mad labradors, they were marvellous!Written 24 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Never before has there been so much intrigue around a tree! It'd make a hilarious movie.Written 23 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Anthony GWellington, New Zealand1,151 contributionsOur kids love playing here when we visit Greytown. It’s a good little park with nearby toilet facilities. Great place if your camping. To be honest I know this is meant to be a park that commemorates our fallen soldiers but there is something quite sweet and respectful about it having a big play area and not just a big memorial.Written 27 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PatrickGreytown, New Zealand31 contributionsA nice place to sit and have an icecream and watch the world go by.
A favourite time of year for us to come here is when the market is on in the summer/spring time. Also great in the summer for there is always a berry cart nearby.Written 12 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very pretty little shop with lots of chocolates on display all made on site.
We bought the chilli chocolate peanut clusters and a block of mint chocolate. Also went back a second time to buy a small gift box as a present, which was packaged up in tissue paper and a gift bag!!
Quite expensive but you have to expect that with handmade chocolates.

- KiwiTraveller8008Palmerston North, New Zealand9 contributionsBeautiful new florist in Greytown, lots of flowers, indoor plants and gifts. Alice was really friendly and helped me out with a stunning bouquet of flowers and cool handcare gift set. Good value and great service, I'll definitely be going back.Written 27 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Linda GWellington, New Zealand20 contributionsThis small store has a great selection of colourful dresses made of Italian linen (and silk), in a wide range of sizes. The prices are more reasonable than other designer's dress stores, like Hall's down the street. Pop into this boutique for a shot of color and pattern.Written 30 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
