Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The most influencers don’t tell exactly where is this place.. I went there and I spend 20 min trying to find..You should go to Av. José Estevão 65, Gafanha da Encarnação, Portugal.. Also you’ll find a good gelato and beautiful shops

Being Newfoundlanders, with our fishing connection to Portugal, we just had to visit this museum. Easy Uber trip from the train station. The museum is housed in a beautiful modern building and is far bigger than we imagined. We throughly enjoyed the museum exhibits especially the section on codfishing in the North Atlantic. We also enjoyed the displays of traditional Portuguese ships and models and also the section on navigation. The documentation was in Portuguese so we simply used Google Lens to easily translate and missed nothing.

If interested in Portuguese maritime history it’s a great place to spend a few hours. Well worth a visit.

A wonderful beach with great sand for sandcastles - my granddaughter loved it. Nearby restaurants and other amenities, free street parking but not always easy to find a space. Wonderful lighthouse and view of large ships coming into port.

If you ever get the chance to walk to the top, the views are fantastic, the history of the lighthouse is very interesting, it is very well maintained and overall a great experience and free of charge. It is only open on Wednesday between 2-5pm when we visited in September.

We visited this ship on September 29. Free parking is available next to the Oudinet garden. You have to go through this public garden to get to the entrance. You can buy a ticket to visit the ship, but also a combination ticket to visit the ship and the maritime museum in the city of Ilhavo. The information boards are in Portuguese and English. There are some steep steps in the nave. It gives you a good idea of how those sailors lived and worked to catch cod.

This is the perfect place to buy fresh fish or seafood. There are also a few shops with vegetables, fruit and cheese.

It's excellent to have a beautiful naturist beach so close to a city like Aveiro.

The beach has an extensive sand area, protected by dunes and vegetation. You access it through one of the few short and easy trails from a main road.

Once you get to the beach, you'll see the wide open ocean and lots of sand space.

We've been there a few times throughout the season, and it was never full. Very pleasant. All the info refers to it as a naturist beach, but you do see some clothed people. Maybe it's clothing optional, or maybe mandatory naturism is just not enforced.

Noise was always very low, and people seemed to keep to themselves. There are no facilities at the beach, so it'd be a good idea to take some drinks and snacks with you.

I definitely recommend a visit to anyone near Aveiro.

What a cute town. The houses were so charming. Not painted but made of tile!!! Great photo opt. Boardwalk was incredible. We caught the sunset there but nice for a walk too. Joggers this is for you!! Not in season so no beach reviews but lovely to see the ocean. Close To Aveiro, but nice to come back to the tranquility of off season shore town ..
