Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Angela L1 contributionMy grandparents are from here so i lived here on weekend and holidays. West Tx is my childhood and The West Pool was the hangout. Back then they had one of the tallest diving boards ever, it seemed like. Lilly pads. We would stay all day and enjoy friends.Written 17 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Stephanie DKansas City, MO2 contributionsWest is a lovely small town. We were driving through to attend a Basketball game at Baylor and stopped in West for lunch (Try Gerik's you won't leave hungry!). We decided to drive through town and spotted the museum.
We stopped, thinking we would be there briefly and stretch our legs.
When you enter, they have reconstructed an old main street! The amount of work that went into setting up the displays is hard to imagine. Each gallery is a tribute to the people and heritage of this small town.
We were there for nearly two hours. Missing the tip-off!
Even more impressive than the museum was when we learned that it was all constructed by volunteer labor...and the staff are all volunteers. Everyone was friendly and eager to share their knowledge with us.
My kids said they enjoyed the museum more than the basketball game!Written 16 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a great place for families and friends to spend the afternoon, with lots of photo opportunities, games, and food.
These pictures are from their fall pumpkin harvest. They have hayrides where you can pick your own pumpkins or purchase pre-picked pumpkins. There are many shapes, colors, and sizes. I saw a starfish-shaped pumpkin!
They have something for all ages! There is a barn where little ones can pet small farm animals. There is a maze for older ones. A pumpkin canon for the adventurous of all ages. Slides, seesaws, pumpkin checkers, outdoor chess, water game, etc.
There are tons of photo spots for solo, friends, and families. They accommodate anywhere from a small child to large groups. It is a great place to meet people and hang out for a few hours.
Please check out their Facebook page for dates and times. They host for several weekends during each season.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The memorial was also built to commemorate the community of West survivors and the surrounding communities which came to their assistance in their time of need.
This is a beautiful memorial which honors all the lives lost in the blast.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
