What travellers are saying
- JN-FoodieForeverAustin, TX395 contributionsSpicewood Vineyards is a very good TX winery, located in Spicewood, TX, a stone's throw from Dripping Springs, TX. We went on a Sunday, our first event at the winery, the 16th annual chili cookoff, and boy what fun it was. The winery location is beautiful, "out in the country" with beautiful views and a creek that runs right through the property. The wines are good, slight edge to the reds over the whites. The tempranillo is very good, as well as the Bordeaux-style red blend. On the white side, viognier was the star. Very friendly staff, even though the place was a zoo! Kids and pets welcome here! We liked it enough to join the wine club! The only suggestion for events of this type, have serving lines for members, that would be an extra little perk for those who have chosen to join the club! Recommend Spicewood Vineyards!Written 25 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ekaterina D1 contributionAmazing place😻 with kind and beautiful people 🙏❤️!
We enjoyed our time there and didn’t want to leave this place!
We took a bottle of Special Reserve Grenache Blanc 2021 and it was soooooo good🤤.

What a pleasant surprise! We were met by very friendly and helpful staff (the owners, I think). They served up some delicious, unusual cocktails. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy for our party to have a nice chat with a couple of local patrons. The place came complete with some young kids playing, and a beautiful, friendly host dog. I gave the owner a heads-up on a suggested new cocktail to serve, a Bloody Caesar. I’m betting they will try it. If they do, I’ll enjoy one or two on my next visit. Great spot.Written 17 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OkiedevildogOklahoma1,012 contributionsIt’s beautiful spot and we love the giant wind chimes and the garden area but the natural pool isn’t what we thought it would be. It’s a small, water isn’t clear as we thought in swim area but the waterfall is refreshing and cold. The other people are friendly and considerate. You’re allowed to bring in ice chest with cans only.Written 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IndySwimRunRichmond, IN219 contributionsAs the gate attendant said, "There are 13 miles of trails." Most are shared bike/hike trails. On a weekday afternoon, we shared the trail with one mountain biker. (It's probably different on evenings and weekends.) Trail intersections are numbered and make route-finding easy. No arduous up-hills! The ecology is pretty typical of hill country. We went counter-clockwise starting from the north (#500) trailhead and (in trail order) 404 - 402 - 405 - 406 - back to 404 and 500 to finish. About two+ miles and we strolled it in just over an hour. Some open areas from 405 to 404, could be hot and sunny.Written 9 May 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard HMarble Falls, TX523 contributionsRemotely located property with pleasant views of the countryside. Interesting flavors of gin and rum available. Although their tasting room is fairly small, there is plenty of room outside on their patio, plus spacious grounds for various activities, complete with picnic tables. We shall be back another time when live entertainment is scheduled. Good Place!!Written 4 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lauren H1 contributionBeautiful area with lots of views. Campsite 11 was perfect. No water in Lake Travis currently but still so serene. Unfortunately, it was ruined by a man on some flying machine. Instead of bird calls we woke up to loud motor sounds at 6:30 AM by this man flying his loud contraption around the whole park and then again at 7pm in the evening. Definitely ruined the peace and quiet we came out here for.Written 6 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - shoelover80Wylie, TX27 contributionsThis park is clean and the trail (The Great Escape) we walked was well marked. We saw butterflies on the trail. It was slightly rocky but not difficult to hike. We went a little over 2 miles and and then back and it took us about 2 hours. We didn't see the lake on this trail, however it's mostly shaded with spots of sun. It was a nice way to spend a morning. Very clean bathrooms a plus!Written 12 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- henryp05Round Rock, TX13 contributionsYou and the horse. Go slow, fast, take a break is your horse. You tell your horse what to do. Go see the water at the park while taking an awesome adventurous trail. Sit, relax , and enjoy the views. Or go fast and run. You decide :)Written 13 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jtrude58Fort Worth, TX20 contributionsWe came down from Ft Worth for an overnight trip. I wanted to focus on tasting rooms not on the main Fredericksburg routes. So glad we ran into this hidden gem in Spicewood.
Great wine, Malbec all day thank you.
Simply incredible food, we enjoyed the special of the day (marinated octopus). Perfectly prepared. The empanadas were the best we've had since visiting Argentina.
The servers were awesome. Thank you for a great experience.Written 21 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
