What travellers are saying
- john w1 contributionJohn and Jo, As complete novices we were in the safe hands of Sam who took us around for a two hour hack through the beautiful countryside. Both Sam and Tim made us feel like we were all old friends. I would have no hesitation in recommending a visit for anyone no matter what your level of experience.Written 9 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PoolsofBlueGlassSlough, UK15 contributionsA lovely garden of about 5 acres surrounded by the beautiful Welsh countryside. There is plenty to see for tree and plant lovers. It is quite steep, but it's well worth climbing to the and zig-zagging your way down. Drifts of sedum and Michaelmas daisies were smothered in honey bees.
I rounded off my visit with the best cream tea I've had in a very long time, and a stroll round the lower, "wild" garden which features several large ponds.Written 6 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As my wife is learning the art of quilting we took the opportunity to travel to Lampeter despite the long drive. It was well worth the trip. As it was our first visit we were treated to a guided tour by Jen Jones whose passion for Welsh quilts is self evident. The exhibition space is divided up into several rooms over two floors. The quilts are simply displayed with excellent notes on separate sheets. We have been to several exhibitions in both large and small buildings such as the NEC and the Malvern show but none are were effective , imho , in showing the beauty of the quilts as the displays at this centre. It was also very refreshing to see bed quilts actually shown on beds! It provides a great context. In addition to the main quilts there was a lovely display of work by Viviene Finch showing miniature cot quilts. The continuous loop video about the collection and the making of a felt quilt lasted an hour and was very informative. It was good to see plenty of seating in the rooms to allow deeper contemplation!. Finally there is a great shop with high quality gifts , books and craft kits.
I would suggest you allow at least two and ideally three hours to fully appreciate the displays. It is possible to leave and return to the centre having refreshed one’s self at one of the many tea rooms , cafes and restaurants along the high street.
All in all a great and enjoyable day out that we will be repeating later in the year as the exhibitions change.Written 31 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Both our boys loved the fresh air, the rustic play area and the composting toilets! We all enjoyed cooking outdoors and having a break from technology.
Lovely comfy bed which was a bonus. If you are desperate for an en suite and a shower next door then you'll be disappointed, but for a break from the rest of the world it is amazing! Highly recommended.Written 16 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff are really skillful and provided me three books, each of which answered my question is a different way.
Does it get better than this? I don't think so.

- Anna-Jayne D18 contributions8 of us were away for the weekend in Tregaron and we had booked in for Sunday lunch. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to attend however we rang to see if they could do a takeaway option ! This wasn’t any trouble for Mavis! The dinner was wonderful and the meat was amazing! Hopefully will be able to return soon to eat at the restaurant instead of a takeaway but thank you Mavis for being so accommodating!!Written 7 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan R19 contributionsWhat a great shop, I wish it was nearer to where I live (mind you, I'd probably spend too much).
