Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately the experience did not ultimately live up to expectations.
Initially had much difficulty in reaching the spa to actually make a booking, calling 4-5 times over different days nobody answered the phone. When I did get through I was told this was due to sickness but not sure why the hotel main reception staff could not assist when I spoke with them.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist although there wasn’t much information provided about the facilities and the pool took a bit of finding. The pool facilities in my opinion let the place down a bit. They felt a bit run down and were a bit basic. The windows with the view out over the surrounding hillside were also filthy, which is such a shame as that is one of the main features.
Lunch was ok but choice was from a set menu which was very limited choice. I had thought we might be offered some more interesting options but fish and chips and ham egg and chips were 2 of the 4 mains available when we visited. I would also expect for the price to be provided with a soft drink or tea/coffee at the very least with our meal.
All in all the experience was ok, but not memorable and felt like relatively poor value for money.Written 11 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unfortunately our timing meant it wasn’t dark enough to enjoy the lights to their full effect (our fault!) but it was a nice experience all the same.
The driver and his wife were friendly, interesting, informative and good fun - so we’re considering a longer trip next summer.
The shires were gorgeous of course!Written 8 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
