Near the parking lot below the footbridge leading into the park the stream widens a bit in places with tranquil pools perfect for wading and cooling down from your day's hike before getting back on the road.
The park office/visitor center has limited hours of operation, which is a surprise, but it was well-stocked with snacks, hiking gear, souvenirs, maps, and books.
