Almost 60 miles of bike trails on an island 5 miles wide by 12 miles long-----paradise!!!! Biking on the beach is awsome and the nature trails are educational and amazing.
My family gets together for a reunion every two years at Hilton Head and, without a doubt, my favorite part of the trip is the chance to park the car and get on a rental bike to explore the fantastic bike trails.

Beautiful Park, with clean Rest Rooms, plenty of benches, hanging swings,to take advantage of the warm Ocean Beach, Great Family, destination for a Fun Day in the Sun.
From the pretty sandstone buildings for showers and bathrooms to the adorable cabana dressing rooms and swinging lounges along the parkway, this beach park is one of the most elegant we've ever seen!

Beautiful nature walks, lots of wildlife (watch out for the gators!) and plenty of places to sit and relax when you need a break.
This nature preserve is an ever-changing, year round pleasure for walking and observing wildlife.

The shops are great and the park is a fun area for family and friends to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather and views from this side of the island.
Shelter Cove Community Park has been around for years, and is truly an area that offers great peace and quiet for a walk or a hike.

And the upland portion of the park has a nice boardwalk through a marsh and shrubland where warblers, wrens, vireos, cardinal, ibises, herons, hawks, gnatcatchers and woodpeckers can be found.
There is also an access trail to a beautiful beach area, and plenty of nature to explore as well.

The park is very woodsy and kid friendly, so they can play tag, climb trees, and just have some fun.
The playground also does a good job incorporating the nature and Oak trees in Harbor Town.

Serene, with the sounds of nature, it is peaceful and yet exciting to see flocks of birds doing aeronautics in the sky!
A beautiful area to see alligators, turtles, birds of all sorts, huge trees, ponds and simply get away from everything and enjoy nature.

This wonderful new park has a superb sunset views and sourounded by all services and a great gelato store!
Nice shopping center with some great shops and places to eat! Plus there is the park that spans the back side of the shopping center, and that park has great views of the marsh.

A lovely beach, convenient rest rooms, but very little parking so get there early, especially on days that there are soccer games at the nearby park.
There is a ton to see and do - check out the Folly, explore the estuary, play some tennis at Chapman park (same parking).

The ladies who led us were outstanding and we enjoyed learning about all the flora and fauna of the park.
Easy to reach park with lots of history and beautiful marsh views from the boardwalk.

This beautiful place is a 'must-see' that combines a gorgeous nature walk with a look back at the history of the island, We saw butterflies, egrets and more, and the beach area is simply gorgeous.
We visited Mitchelville Beavh Park at low tide on a Saturday morning and had a terrific time walking through the sand and marsh areas.

This is my favorite beach on the island for locals since you can get a yearly pass and then park and walk just a short ways to the beach.
Islanders Beach Park 94 Folly Field Road Hilton Head Island, SC This Park was close to the resort were we stayed so we could walk over to the beach (only about 5 minute walk).

Lovely nature preserve mid island offering a quiet respite from the more congested areas of HH.

Jarvis Creek Park was a destination to ride our bicycles for our daily adventures on Hilton Head Island.
Nice clean park can walk or bile the trails, have a picnic and just sit and relax.

(Hidden fact: if you possess a disabled parking plate or a placard you may park in a metered space anywhere in SC without paying!)
