Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Megan M4 contributionsI attended Lander and graduated in 2012. I loved being on this campus and became very involved! The staff and faculty here actually collaborate and help students find their way though this experience. I later realized that I wanted to work in the higher education field. Lander inspired me to pursue my masters degree in Higher Education Administration, and here I am again 7 years later working on the other side! It says a lot to see low turnover rates among staff and facility here as I still see many of the friendly faces I had while being a student here. After working in a larger college located in Charleston I heard about a job opening at Lander and did not look back! The small town has a huge heart and is college student centered! Lander is forever my favorite.Written 18 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- travelwriter52Clinton, SC3,610 contributionsMuseum is a bit of an over reach, as the museum itself is small and doe snot have a lot of items. What is the highlight, is the guided tour of a static display consisting of a steam locomotive and four cars. One of the cars is the President's car from Piedmont and Northern Railway, a line that no longer exists in that form.Written 13 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joshua WColumbia, SC24 contributionsI love the Uptown Market. It is an addition to Uptown Greenwood since we moved here, and I love it. It is a lovely place for a farmer’s market. In the summer weeks, it has a splash pad for kids to cool off, and it even has shade for the supervising adults. This is also the location for many Greenwood events and festivals. The only reason it isn’t a 4/5 is because I wish it had farmers market hours more accessible to the working masses. It is also located close to some of our favorite restaurants in Greenwood: the Millhouse, Good Times Brewery, and Kickers.Written 5 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pambaughmanAbbeville, SC1 contributionI was honored to have directed a wedding there. The support from the staff was second to none. Anything I needed, they provided it. It is such a beautiful place that very few decorations were needed. Thank you Sundance Gallery, Greenwood,SC, for making this such an unforgettable experience. To see the smiles on the bride and groom let you know they were thrilled as well.

Every inch of space in the store is used to display any kind of antique you could imagine and Karen, the manager, even opened the back warehouse to us so we could browse some more. The prices may have been a little high, though many of the pieces were true antiques and not just junk, but they were reasonable when you compare them to places like Charleston and Asheville. If you like antiquing, this is a good place to stop, though, bring your truck - we wish we had!Written 4 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ToothscGreenville, SC642 contributionsThis also houses the Visitors center and we stopped in to get some information. The Visitors center was not staffed but there was a very helpful female who answered our questions and provided some brochures. While we were there we took a quick tour of the art center and were quite impressed with many of the works, several of which are for sale. It was a nice diversion and I'm sorry I can't remember her name -- she provided a great recommendation for lunch which was just around the corner.woWritten 15 January 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joshua WColumbia, SC24 contributionsThe Benjamin Mays museum is a must visit for anyone traveling in or around Greenwood. Our tour was given by Chris Thomas and Loy, and I learned so much about this legendary, civil rights leader. It made me proud to live here. The museum has on sight his original home. This is good for adults and children alike.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sherry HMonroe, NC255 contributionsWe had a blast! In town for a Golf Tournament. I’m always looking for fun things to do. Their Hand Made hamburgers..BEST I’ve ever had! 3 different screens, nice large spaces, clean bathrooms. I would go every weekend if I lived closer.Written 25 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Katie BGreenwood, SC30 contributionsA young farmer Will Metts is growing healthy produce for the Greenwood area on his farm situated at 921 Chipley Road in Greenwood, SC. This farm uses sustainable practices to grow high quality, all-natural produce. This is his third year in full-time production, and he has experienced much success and has learned how to improve his farm practices.
Farming is a passion of his, and it is in his blood! Both paternal and maternal ancestors were farmers, and their respect and love of the land have been passed down to him. He would rather be no where else than outside in the fresh air working in the soil to create healthy, pesticide-free produce for the Greenwood community.
Come visit him at the Uptown Market on Wednesdays or make an appointment to come out to the farm. He would love to show you around and let you see what he is doing and how he is doing it.Written 18 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - USABelgieTampa, FL443 contributionsBuilt along Greenwood’s abandoned railroad lines, the Heritage Trail extends 2.5 miles and offers an excellent opportunity for biking, walking, jogging and skating. The trail can be accessed at the trailhead on South Main Street in the City of Greenwood (next to The Palmetto Bank). For a location map, click here. It may not be the best area but so far I have found the area safe to run.
