The Church of the Cross
#1 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Bluffton
This historic church is well worth a visit to enjoy scenic views of the May River in Bluffton, SC and a well-preserved house of worship dating back to the antebellum years.
This beautiful church sits on a bluff overlooking the estuary, a terrific view (and a great place to come and picnic, by the way), framed by oak trees dripping with Spanish moss.
Old Town Bluffton
#2 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Bluffton
Churches built before the Civil War, homes built before the 1900s, a variety of art galleries and restaurants, and a view of the May River make a most pleasant half day— or longer.
Make sure to walk down to the Mary River and enjoy the views and also see the Historic Church of the Cross.
Heyward House Museum & Welcome Center
#3 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Bluffton
The Heyward House has a marvelous story to tell and the story is delivered beautifully by Katie, the director of this historical site.
Educational and Interesting view of history
Cyrus Garvin House
#4 of 4 Sights & Landmarks in Bluffton
The views from this home, perched so perfectly on the river bank, are outstanding.
Very interesting historical site of a home built in 1870 by a freed slave on the banks of the May River.
