The beaches are clean and the expansive lawns are perfect for families looking to picnic and play games.
Of the beaches between Galilee and Bonnet Shores this one appears to be the most easily accessible, particularly if you are walking from the beach cottages.
Roger W. Wheeler State Beach
#5 of 26 Outdoor Activities in Narragansett
We definitely recommend the Roger Wheeler beach over the other beaches in the area because of the large number of families visiting this particular beach.

East Matunuck State Beach South Kingstown 8.2 km away

As a resident of Rhode Island, I have several favorite beaches.
The beach was pretty clean to begin with, which surprised me after what we had encountered on some other beaches along the Eastern Seacoast of the US.
Kelly Beach

The beach sand is so soft and inviting to travel-weary toes and it makes for loads of sand castle building fun!
Private beach, No parking available

BUT this place does have bathrooms and a little snack shack serving sandwiches, burgers, ice cream, etc. (no french fries though) They have a seagull problem, like most beaches do, so be careful for your food.
We just enjoyed our 4th Summer visit to Neeport! Gooseberry Beach is our favorite beach The kids love swimming and playing on the beach The afternoon visit to the snack shack is always fun too!
