Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kathy DSaint Louis, MO408 contributionsMy son (age 29) and I stopped at multiple falls, including Latourell. We took an upper trail to see the falls. Then we took the lower trail, which took us to the foot of the falls. The views were spectacular, as were the boulders, and the roar of the water.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Eva TUnited Kingdom5,659 contributionsWhen we arrived it was already closed so I don't know what's inside. But this is a spot from where is amazing view at Columbia river Gorge. The Art Nouveau building is from 1917. There was a car park near by but you must be careful when crossing the road as you cannot see if coming cars or motorcycles if somebody is driving speedy.Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathy DSaint Louis, MO408 contributionsMy son (age 29) and I stopped at Bridal Veil Falls as part of our day exploring the Columbia River Gorge. There are several waterfalls near the road, and we stopped at 5 of them. At Bridal Veil Falls, there are two trails, one of them is a half mile loop to the breath-taking overlook. The other is a two-thirds mile loop, which goes downhill to the foot of the falls, then back up again to where you started.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TOURtheWORLDMexPalUnited States3,601 contributionsThis is the best view from higher elevation along the way on the historic route. The vista building closes at 6pm but the view area is always open.Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TOURtheWORLDMexPalUnited States3,601 contributionsIt is a deviation off the historic scenic route about 14 miles to the point and 122 steps to reach the sherrard view point, which is 4056 feet elevation. You will see the following mountains:
Mt. Jefferson (62mile away)
Mt. Hood (22mil) amazing view. So close, especially on a clear none cloudy day.
Mt. Adams (54mil)
Mt. Rainier (97mil)
Mt. St. Helens (46mil)Written 3 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Only problem is (not so much the nudity) is that you might stumble across a guy giving himself a rub & tug, twice I've stumbled across that (YUCK). Just wanted to walk on the trail not seeing some guy tugging away. Overall I like the park didn't enjoy the side show.Written 2 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JenniferLuvsTravelHillsboro, OR134 contributionsDon't trust Google Maps to get you there. It just doesn't know.
Take exit 30 on I84 eastbound. You'll see the signs.
This a great place for swimming that's not too far from east Portland. It's got lots of room for lots of picnics to be going on without anyone being in anyone else's space.
It's clean and had "real" restrooms.
There is also a fishing hole accessible at the same location, just west of the parking lot.Written 6 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Talbot State Park is based in Corbett, Oregon, and it leads to Latourell Creek and the magnificent Latourell Falls waterfall which has far more reviews on TripAdvisor. We went there on our first full day in the Pacific Northwest back in April 2023 and, despite the steady rain, had a wonderful time hiking the well-maintained trails and gawking at the eye-shuttering, ear-shattering flows of water. The environment here is gorgeous, and we, like so many others, took our time taking numerous photos, experiencing the drenching mist, and breathing oxygen-saturated air from moss-covered trees. There were numerous wooden bridges crossing the rapids, caves from which to admire the falls shooting just outside, basins of water where we wished we could swim (but didn’t dare for fear of instant death!), and a variety of falls (wide, narrow, straight, curvy, high) showing off nature’s glory. Cherry Wonderdog gives Guy Talbot State Park high marks – e.g, five stars – on the rating scale. It’s not to be missed.Written 12 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bob19512014Gulfport, FL10,816 contributionsWe were on the way to see the waterfalls east of here. Looked like a shady park next to a river. The park was busy, and the river banks had many people playing in and around the shore. Enjoyed watching the train the most as it chugged across the old railway bridge.Written 20 May 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Berries1447 contributionsWe went to play disc golf, it was the first time for a few of us and we had a terrific time. The course was fun, it's not really marked well on where to start but if you talk with the others they will help. We had a great time, well worth the $5 Parking fee
that they charge.Written 18 March 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Shepperd's Dell is sort of hidden in plain view. Near Rooster Rock State Park, the Columbia River Highway goes over a bridge. There is a small pull-off where you can park your car. Then you can marvel at the Shepperd's Dell Falls.Written 20 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Greg MCarrollton, TX3,023 contributionsYou can reach Wiesendanger Falls from the Larch Mountain Trail #441. It's about .3 miles up from the junction at Multnomah Falls Overlook spur. Beautiful country abounds in this are, and it's well worth the trip to these falls. They are also easier to get closer too than some of the other falls, you don't have to worry about drop offs or cliff here. I really enjoyed the solitude here as it was away from the crowds. We only saw a few hikers in the area. Really was nice to enjoy the falls and take in the surroundings.Written 8 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
