This is a five minute walk from The Castle, but the ladies there said to enter via a side door, but we couldn't figure that out, so we entered through the front doors. This led to their hall, which has a small exhibit of some church vestments and local bishop information. Unfortunately the gift shop was closed (it was in the middle of the week); it seems to be open when mass is scheduled. We weren't sure how to get up to the actual worship area, but trying a door labeled "this needs to be always closed" across from the gift shop led up a stairwell and into the worship area. Although I was expecting more pews as this is a minor basilica, it can accommodate a nice crowd. Overall the church is very beautiful; I wanted to take pictures but I don't think they would have taken, as it was primarily sunlight. It would be an experience to attend mass there; we sensed the peace. Marietta overall has a "laid back small town" feel, but this basilica could provide a welcomed respite for tired tourists. Upon leaving we saw some street parking, but a church that size surely has a parking lot? (We didn't walk around it to see.)
