The Saturday market in La Garriga is a pleasant walk through the cordoned-off streets around the Parroquia de Sant Esteve. While you see stalls that sell clothes to items for your dog, it is the shops that sell fresh produce that is a joy. From all sorts of different vegetables (courgettes, potatoes, red and yellow cauliflowers, leeks, onions) to different fruits (nectarines, apples, plums, watermelons, grapes, and oranges to name a few). There are eggs and cheeses and yogurts as well.
Just remember to bring a shopping trolley or lots of shopping bags to ensure you have enough to put your shopping.

I do not know if it is the most beautiful area of the town but it is the one with the most beautiful residences in the same route.

Just a short walk along the Passieg you come across the Villa Romana. These are well preserved ruins of a villa with an excellent example of a bath house. Good signage and information well worth a look.

We found this lovely small restaurant by happy coincidence. It is off a side street on Carrer deJaume going up towards the Jaume square. You come upon a small square where there are two restaurants and we were glad we chose this one. Obviously popular with locals it had only two available tables left on a Thursday night. It was the best meal we had during our stay, very attentive but not intrusive staff. Good local wine list. I tried a traditional Catalan soup, and we were given complimentary bread and olives for the table. I had Guineas fowl with dauphinois potatoes which came in a sauce and was moist and delicious, my husband had sirloin steak with garlic which came cooked just as he liked it and served fanned across his plate with potatoes done two ways. We finished up sharing a nougat ice cream with a deliciously crisp almond biscuit and liqueur coffees. It was our last night and a wonderful end
