I signed up for a walking tour one morning and our guide, Tena was wonderful. The tour took us into Congress Park, to various springs, past the Spirit of Life statue in its beautiful setting, and best of all, into the Casino, now the Saratoga Springs History Museum. We've been to Saratoga Springs many times visiting friends, and I was so pleased to learn so much more about Saratoga Springs by taking this tour.Written 31 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The history of Saratoga is the natural springs the town is known for. Bottling the water was a big industry back in the day, and the bottling plant is a huge historic building in the centre of The Saratoga Spa State Park. While the bottling is no longer taking place, the bottling plant has been given new life as an Automobile museum.
The Automobile museum preserves and exhibits autombiles and related artefacts. The history of the automobile, and the role of it in New York state.
While we were there, there was a special exhibit – “Bond in Motion” – a collection of automobiles and other vehicles that were used and featured in James Bond movies.
The Aston Martins, the submarine, motorcycles, etc – all featured in 007 movies through the decades.
The museum will appeal to the gear head and anyone while loves cars. The Bond exhibit is a temporary exhibit, and may not be there for long – but it the museum has plenty to engage visitors.
The cost of the museum was about $20USD, which at first, we were a little surprised by but the museum is well worth it.
It is not a huge museum, and would be easy to do the whole thing in about an hour.
There is parking on site.Written 2 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Cynthia FFair Lawn, NJ2,361 contributionsExcellent selection of fresh produce and packaged products.
Many vendors (30?)
Many vendors selling hot food. I saw crepes, greek food, pierogies.
Very popular.
I was there in the rain; my shoes got a little dirty; the vendors are on the grass, not on pavement.Written 2 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I loved the simplicity and beauty of it. It sparked me into believing I can decorate my walls beautiful without the traditional pictures. The exhibit on the Mezzanine is a must see. At first I thought it was just a sitting area but then you will notice how common buckets can be made artistic plant holders. The chairs were also beautiful woven. My visit was definitely an inspiring way to spend a winter's Sunday.Written 5 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChabrroNew York City, NY492 contributionsThe museum hosts a very comprehensive range of exhibits spanning the countries history of military enagagements and does an excellent job of summarizing the broadstrokes of American military conflicts while also focusing on New York's role in such conflicts. One could dedicate an entire visit to a particular section of the museum with plenty more to return to see. There are helpful guides available to answer questions and admission is free.Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
