Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Maltipoo16New York1,903 contributionsExtremely beautiful hike with an excellent payoff at the summit! The trail was very well maintained with a lot of room to get around other parties. The parking at the trail head was interesting, as I had the last open spot and there was a Ranger there directing and monitoring the parking. It’s definitely a very busy trail. Views from the top of the fire tower were beautiful, but with the crowds, it’s hard to get any alone time up there for photos. It’s was a great hike, but plan accordingly if you want to avoid crowds.Written 14 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - michelle w33 contributionsStopped in on Sunday, Nov 26 as we were in Old Forge for Christmas in the ADKs weekend. Lovely bar and business with excellent staff and service. While we don't usually drink beer, I was able to find a tasty 1911 raspberry cider, and husband had a specialty drink and a spiked root beer float. He had chowder, which was great, and an excellent bacon burger. I had a seriously hefty fried chicken sandwich, which was delicious, and a thrown-together salad that was just OK. (The ranch dressing had an odd flavor, but I managed to eat it all, ha.) I ordered a seltzer. They are made in house, with a seltzer gun and Torani syrup flavorings. I don't recommend them, truthfully. We stayed for two quarters of the football game and left to watch the Bills lose in private, at our motel. The bartender guy was a pure delight, constantly cleaning and checking on everyone. We will definitely come back again!Written 28 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

So much interesting history and tales about the ADKs. Things you wouldn't find anywhere else. And didn't miss the camping, food, and craft areas!Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
