What travellers are saying
- AbigailCanandaigua, NY40 contributionsMy husband booked the scenic brunch from Utica to Remsen, NY. It was a 3 round trip. He booked the diamond class which included the dome windows at the top. The view from up there was worth it and the railroad was romantic. The food was great! I had a quiche and he had salmon, both were delicious. The only thing I wished they had done was clean the outside of the windows before our trip. I’m not sure how often that’s done but when you pay extra for the dome car it would be nice. Our servers were very nice and hospitable.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- brennissPhiladelphia, PA2 contributionsJeremy and JP took our family of 4 (kids ages 7 and 11) water skiing and tubing. We had a blast! They helped us with our form so we could get up on the skis. Then we did about an hour of tubing - pure fun! Nonstop Screaming and laughing. Would recommend to anyone and would do it again for sure !Written 21 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- DLPNew Jersey1,738 contributionsHigh Peaks Cyclery provided top notch service to my family when we arrived to rent bikes for the afternoon. We are a family of seven and the staff was very patient and professional with all our questions. They took their time measuring all of us and ensuring that each of us got the right fit bike. The rental and return process was very easy. Their service provided a fun afternoon for us and I would recommend them.Written 21 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Honeymom32Rochester, NY5 contributionsOne of the best experiences we’ve had!! This was a last minute adventure for my husband and me and it did not disappoint! Our tour was incredibly beautiful and super fun, with lunch at a water access only beach. So fun we came home and purchased two WaveRunners! If you get the chance to take a tour/rent with Adk Water Sports, you should definitely do it!! Thanks for an amazing day!Written 24 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Kelly Anne TDubai, United Arab Emirates16 contributionsI booked this sleigh ride for our family of 8 to celebrate a birthday in December 2018. We got lucky with a cold, sunny day but there was limited snow which made for a bumpy ride. The ride itself was fun (although it was just two times around a field behind farting horses) and the driver, Travis, was very friendly. However, the advertised blankets were wet, there was snow all over the seats and we were offered no hot cocoa after the ride, also as advertised. Oh, and no hand warmers either. We enjoyed the ride but it wasn't worth the $400 we paid. There is a lot of potential for this - they could have had a fire going for one group while another group was riding etc. They need more staff and a little more organization to be able to deliver what is promised on the website.Written 6 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sgibson100Lichfield, UK114 contributionsWe are a family of 4 with 2 adults a teen and a pre-teen. We had never done Paddle Boarding before, but felt that Mirror Lake would be the perfect location as the lake was always calm and there is no motor craft allowed.
We shopped around as we felt the prices were a bit steep- $30 to hire each for the boards and $55 for a double kayak - rental is by the day or am/pm for 4 hours - we took the afternoon slot, the prices quoted were for half a day.
We found other rentals which were slightly cheaper and rented for shorter 2 hour periods, but these were located further away from the lake and we needed to walk the boards to the water and launch them ourselves, we also felt that 2 hours may not be enough time to master this activity.
In the end we rented 2x paddle boards and the double kayak. We all enjoyed the experience and the fact that we could Paddle back to shore and swap the boards between us meant that we were all able to learn, take pictures from the safety of the kayak and it gave the youngest a chance to keep up with the pack.
We did find the person completing the paperwork a bit sullen, but this did not detract from the overall experience.
The day we hired these boats was one of the most memorable of our holiday.Written 6 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - DanielSymChateauguay, Canada18 contributionsDisappointing experience that was far from what we imagined based on the website description and pictures of the nighttime sleigh ride: Here's what was wrong: 1. If you pay by credit card, it's 4$/person more expensive. I know businesses have to pay to offer a pay with credit card option but now-a-days most simply absorb those costs and don't have a different customer facing pricing structure 2. The website states that the nighttime sleigh rides are done on a lantern lighted path which would obviously enhance the experience a lot. There was unfortunately no such thing, it was all moonlight. 3. The sleigh is not at all as pictured on the website and is not comfortable. It's a utilitarian/work type sleigh (long wooden benches on the sides), nothing like the carriage style pictured on the website. 3. Website states blankets will be given but no such thing was offered and it was pretty cold. 4.Hot cocoa was offered but only at the end of the ride in the parking lot, not during which is not the same thing because we were going to get on our cars and get warm anyway.
The good:1. Beautiful horses. 2. The sleigh "driver" was a nice and pleasant host. .Written 3 January 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
