THIS PARK IS PERFECT ..first the waterfalls...then, Hiking trails, picnic area, great swimming area with diving area, the view here and the surrounding area are breathtaking.

It may be cool because it's long, beautiful, waters that range from pristine to choppy, great for paddling, excellent shore parks, and much more.
I highly recommend the falls areas in Watkins Glen (it's a stunning waterfall/feature filled gorge, but it's a hike), Taughannock Falls state park, where you can walk up the stream to the tallest falls in the regi...

Such a lovely gem in downtown Ithaca, we park in the Seneca St garage, take a lively walk through the gorge and end up on Cornell's campus.
Great walking trail - nature so beautiful !

These are lovely waterfalls with a short walk to the bottom but finding somewhere to park is a challenge, there is a tiny car park at the top of the trail, you can find it on Lake Street, the entrance is opposite...
A must see for those who love nature’s grandure.
1 Way to experience it

This is a lovely, quiet place to enjoy the beauty of nature and take a break from the hustle and bustle of nearby Cornell University and city of Ithaca.
Our favorite walk is to park up on the upper most parking lot next to the Newman Overlook and walk clockwise toward the Goldsworthy Holocaust Memorial.

I live here and each time I visit these Falls - any of them: Ithaca, Taughannock, Buttermilk, Treman, in any season, is a rewarding, enlivening visit with Mother Nature.
While in the area, also check out other attractions such as Buttermilk Falls State Park, Robert Treman State Park, Taughannock Falls State Park or, a bit farther away, Watkins Glen State Park!

Gorgeous nature, beautiful waterfalls, amazing stone formations...It is a hard climbing up and challenging going down but it is all worth it!
Located just outside the City of Ithaca, nestled in the hillside, is a nice, quick, easy access to Nature via the trails of this NYS Park.

At the tip of Cayuga Lake, Stewart Park is an excellent spot to picnic, walk along the lake, or just contemplate the lakes beauty from benches at waters edge.
Exceptional park and still free to visit.

The tree-house alone, "Tree-tops" makes this a wonderful, whimsical experience in nature.
#10 of 20 Nature & Parks in Ithaca
Its a big park with alot of flowers and little hidden treasures.

Although portions of the trail pass thru industrial Parrish area, the portion of trail near the Ithaca Children's Garden and along the inlet toward Cass Park marina is a scenic favorite.
Enjoy the sounds and sites of nature that inhabit the lake as well as get your walk in for the day with a friend or enjoy alone time to think.
