Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- GermanyGalMichigan102 contributionsMy husband and I were looking for a not too strenuous hike and this fit the bill. We did have to stop a few times on the nice benches along the path, as the trail going in is uphill and the elevation increase can affect people differently. It is a wide gravel trail the whole way. The incline is slight but constant. No steep ledges or cliffs to climb. Return trip of course is much easier! Once you arrive near the destination there are lots of signs to read describing the history of the area. Whole hike (reading signs and taking photos) took us about 1 hour 45 minutes
One tip- stop by visitor center first for quick check in. They can give you some tips - as well as sunscreen and bug spray (so helpful!). We stopped in on our way back and spent time reading more about the nature & history.
This was very enjoyable hike. We started a bit later in the day. The park ranger suggested starting earlier to see more wildlife.Written 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A little farmers market was going on with honey, crafts, jewelry, books, etc.
Well behaved dogs allowed.Written 22 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The “highlight” was a timeline of Billy the Kid that fascinates me. We also enjoyed the mercantile/general store. My 92 year old dad was able to relate and tell me stories of his younger years! They also have wine tasting of a local winery!Written 6 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- kevan jNorman, OK1,529 contributionsDefinitely worth checking out if you have half a day. We planned it carefully to see both sides of the mountains. We started by driving the scenic loop through the Aguirre Springs campground area on the east side of the mountains. Very scenic indeed. The desert flora are particularly nice and there is a sweet hike from here (e.g Pine Tree loop trail). We then drove over to the visitor center on the west side of the mountains, which also happens to be the trailhead for the Dripping Springs trail. We hiked this trail (about 3 miles) all the way up to the old sanatorium...very enjoyable and scenic hike...nice trail and not difficult at all.Written 5 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan HTacoma, WA4,179 contributionsThis is a good sized market with a number of vendors. Most of the booths were artists rather than farmers. Of course that could be because it is March and nothing much is in season. There are a few food trucks as well. Fun way to spend a couple of hours. Open Saturday and Wednesday mornings. Hours listed on the website.Written 23 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Coastal16731274511Las Cruces, NM9 contributionsJust don't miss this. it is cool from far away and up close and 100% worth a detour off the highway. Look for all the recycled and repurposed items. A gem in my hometownWritten 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- eonnyFort Collins, CO362 contributionsAdmission: free. The first gallery is called the Wow Gallery. Aptly named. The petrified wood displays are simply jaw-dropping.
Another section has displays of fossils. Full-sized nearly complete skeletons. Flat panels of fossils in situ.

- Aalihte FBurbank, CA17 contributionsSo far my favourite part of town. Mesilla is glorious and full of wonderful history, shops and friendly folks. Not to mention AMAZING food! Their celebration for Dia de Los Muertos was also so intimate yet so rich and fun I recommend this place to everybody who visits Las Cruces, Mesilla or any of the surrounding townsWritten 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dinaLas Cruces, NM16 contributionseasy to find, enjoyable 3 mile hike with lovely cool area at the top. This is a not-too-crowded spot with a small, convenient parking area. Dogs on leashes are allowed, but when we went there were no baggies in the dispenser so bring your own. The hike up is a steady but mild incline, in the full sun. Getting to the top is worth it though, as a shady, beautiful ravine with a seasonal dripping waterfall awaits. A perfect place to offer the dogs water, have a little snack, or just relax before heading back down. There is a neat little ruin part of the way up, and really beautiful rock formations at the top. The hike up is a bit rocky, but you can also navigate around the larger rocks if they are difficult for you to step up onto.Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - montanapescadoAlbuquerque, NM1,576 contributionsThis is a rather attractive (especially the exterior) basilica anchoring the Plaza of old Mesilla. Nice as it is, it will be underwhelming relative to the more impressive Spanish era churches of the southwest.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MickNaples, FL4 contributionsCool place!!! Lovely atmosphere, great service
and so much fun. We had the mini pizza and the pretzels. Bot were great, but the lights of wine for our personal tasting was so much fun. Headed back soon.Written 16 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
