Among other things we wanted to go fly fishing. Neither of us had any experience, but had watched my grandfather enjoy it over his lifetime. We wanted to connect with him, nature and learn the skill and art. Will, our guide, has his work cut out for him. He didn't treat us like a bunch of "silly tourists." He truly taught us the basics, we caught multiple fish, and we had the most fun, beautiful trip down the river. I know these guys will provide serious anglers a phenomenal trip, but I will be forever grateful that they were able to create an exceptional experience for two novices. - Cole2 contributionsMe and my wife had a great time! Came down on our honeymoon with no intention of fishing, but after seeing how pretty the river was we just couldn’t resist! Walter hooked us up even on late notice and even though we had never fly fished before, he still made it a successful trip. - ECUPiratefanWilmington, NC3 contributionsFamily and I had such a great time utilizing this flyshop for an Intro into Flyfishing! Dan was super patient and helpful. Spent about 15 minutes explaining what fish we may catch, what they feed on, and basically toured the shop (the shop is super impressive). Went out back for about 30 minutes and learned the basics of flyfishing (casting etc). After that we met him a mile or so down the road at Carter’s Bridge. He had all the stuff ready to go (rods/reels all rigged up, waders, etc) and spent time with each of us making sure we knew what we were doing. We had a ton of fun and it checked the “we were in Montana and learned how to fly fish” box. Thanks Dan for a great experience!

Then I saw what I can only presume is an employee using the name Charles M threaten a fellow Montanan, upset that he's a "leftist" using a picture of a gun telling him to "find another state" on Twitter. I won't support a business that endorses divisive & threatening behavior. There are plenty of excellent places in MT. - Clay C2 contributionsJust got back from a solo float with Rob down the Yellowstone. Although I tried my best to miss every fish he put me on we still ended up with a ton of fish in the boat for the day. We did a little of everything that fly-fishing has to offer and he was successful in making a total beginner look like a seasoned 3rd string back up! The conversation was great and I had a super time fishing while he worked his butt off rowing that boat. It may be the Budweiser talking but I felt totally at home on the water that day, just like I was with my life long fishing buddy back home. The man can not only fish but he makes a solid Ham and Cheese wrap too....listen up Ladies! Thank you Rob for showing a Georgia boy a great time out on the river. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Mostly Browns for a change but Rainbows and one Cutt also.
Josh is a wealth of knowledge about fishing in general and the Yellowstone in particular.
