Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the best boat tour for the price. $15/person and we had Tim as our tour guide. He is the best part of the tour. Great storyteller and points out very interesting things along the way.

Park up in the road and walk over to the Cathedral of St Helena. The stain glass windows are truly something to see. A lovely place to visit and remember loved ones.

3 of us attended. We paid to do a double load (we sifted until we had twelve 5 gallon buckets of gravel) and then ran them through the machinery. It was a 97oF day, so we only sorted 1/2 the gravel, and took the rest home in 2 bags to look through later. In the half that we looked through at the mine itself, we found 2 that were over 5ct, including 1 beautiful specimen that could cut out at 2ct and 4 others over 2ct. In addition, we found a few garnets, fossils and agates.

I can't say enough about the support and staff. They are great people! Amazing and helpful. We got a tour of the commercial side that was very informative. After we sort the other bags, we will be sending the best back to them for cutting over the winter (when the mine is closed). Their cutting work is great and seems reasonably priced compared to some other options.

Not to throw stones at other places (so I won't name them) but several years ago, we got a giant bag of gravel from another place in Montana that had nothing like the 6 best stones we got here - and we got to experience more of the whole process, which was definitely worth it.

Mount Helena is a small mountain in Helena that has many trails to hike. From beginners to advance. We took the easier trail since I had a bad foot on our vacation and it was do able. The views of the city are beautiful from this mountain. We did not see any wildlife except for a few birds but it was a beautiful and peaceful hike.

It's a short drive and beautiful drive from Helena. Recommend going on to Lincoln from this drive. Best to have a 4 WD, big holes in the drive to the top.

What a great gathering space and theater. We saw a film there and we were comfortable. Great snacks. Parking was easy. Enjoyed our evening there immensely!

Wow! I awakened to a gorgeous lake view each day of our visit. The campground provided water on the way in, and there's a dump-station. Sites have electric and a very nice grill. It's okay to go around and pick up deadfall for kindling. Wood and bait are sold at a convenient camp store.

There are no showers, but there are both pit and plumbed toilets, so that made it very convenient. Lots of people from the local area go there for fishing and boating, and everyone was friendly and polite. Quiet hours are honored, and it was a delight to stay out late with a glass of wine, watching eagles over the lake.

We cannot WAIT to go back. And Helena is a lovely city, too!

We recently went to Montana for the first time and had an amazing experience with both the activities and lodging at Summer Star Ranch. We did both the half-day UTV guided tour with Star and a one and a half hr horseback riding with Matt. We loved the scenery on our UTV tour, saw a bull and other wildlife and learned fun history of the area from Star. They were able to be flexible on our start time and accommodated our interest if we wanted to stop anytime along the way. Snacks like chips and cookies and drinks were provided but we’d recommend bringing sandwiches if you wanted anything more substantial. The horseback riding was peaceful with gentle horses and more beautiful scenery within the Helena National Park. I felt very comfortable as a first time rider and would definitely do it again. We also stayed on the property for 1 night in their JW cabin. It had a comfortable bed, modern indoors bathroom and a fun outdoor shower and great view of the horse pasture. You can grill at the cabin or go to one of the restaurants that Star and Matt suggest….they gave great recommendations.
We loved Summer Star Ranch and hope to be back again!

The hour that you spend on the tour train was very informative, interesting, enjoyable, and the tour guide was funny and seemed to enjoy her job. The only thing that detracted for the tour is that the seats on the train were highly polished wood and were a little too small for my larger posterior, and I kept sliding around on the seat. Otherwise, my sister and I had a wonderful time.

I took my first half day fly fishing excursion. John Henneman picked me up in the morning at my hotel. He was the best fly fishing guide. So patient the whole time and was an amazing teacher. I caught 4 fish including one big rainbow trout. The views on the Missouri River was also amazing. Garrett was also super friendly while speaking with him over the phone and promptly responded to all my emails. I would highly recommend choosing this tour operator for your next fly fishing trip!
