Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hike was worth every minute. It is steadily up hill and runs along the creek for most of the hike. Had to cross the creek a few times but was manageable. The hike up and back is a nice walk through the trees but the real gem of this hike is the lake. We spent quite a bit of time exploring the lake and enjoying our picnic lunches. We went in early june and there was snow and a little ice near the top. There was also some ice in the lake itself. This has to be a must do if you are in the area.

We did this trail with two other couples in July...it is a beautiful trail that leads to an even more beautiful lake, Golden Trout Lakes. We ran into another set of hikers on the way up and they had on very large bells (they had run into a couple of griz the day before while hiking). Yikes! The lakes were just gorgeous and we even fished for a bit. Lovely hike!!

The hike to the lookout tower at the top of Garnet Mountain is about 8 miles round trip with about 3,000 feet of elevation gain. It is tough but worth it. My kids (11 & 9) had no problems completing the hike. The first couple miles climb steadily through mostly forested landscape. The next mile and a half meander in and out of forest and meadow with almost continuous great views down into the valley below. For the last half mile, you turn left on to an ATV trail. This last part is probably the steepest and has the worst footing. The 360 degree view from the top is well worth the effort.
