What travellers are saying
- ElipaBozeman, MT3 contributionsIf you’re into dinosaurs (or just cool museums), you’ve gotta check this place out. The fossil collection is amazing—there’s even a full T. rex skull! But it’s not just dinos; they’ve got exhibits on Montana’s history, Native American culture, and a really cool planetarium.
In the summer, there’s even a Living History Farm where you can see what life was like in the 1800s. The whole place is well set up, and the staff is super friendly. Great for all ages—definitely worth a stop if you're in Bozeman!Written 4 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I’m visiting Bozeman from out of town and wanted to visit the Palisade Falls due to its close proximity to where we were staying. I took a small suv rental car and the drive was super easy and very scenic. The roads are now fully paved, and there’s one sign that indicates a left turn to get to the parking lot that leads to the trail. The trail itself is also fully paved, very accessible for strollers and easy to walk on. We weren’t prepared for the “bear country” signage and recommendation to bring bear spray, but we managed to start the trail at the same time as another group who had bear spray and they were gracious enough to let us walk with them to ease my mind. My 6 & 8 year old absolutely loved this short, easy hike. The views were incredible and the waterfall is gorgeous. My kids loved climbing the rocks to get closer to the water, and there’s a small cave area that we were also able to explore. We did this trail mid October, at 1pm in 75 degree weather and it was perfect, truly an unforgettable experience.Written 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dave P2 contributionsSo many interesting exhibits packed into this museum. Well-done information presentations. We especially enjoyed the Apple exhibits and the relationship of computing technology to DNA research.Written 28 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lani SLos Gatos, CA26 contributionsThe shops are more high end than I was expecting but full of mountain gear if you are interested in that. You can find casual and athletic gear.Written 15 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DevonStephens City, VA1 contributionThe staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the three bears: Maggi, Bella, and Max. Unfortunately, we did not get to see Max (my reason for the four over a five).Written 30 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ldgp14Telford, UK3,456 contributionsThe drive down Gallatin Canyon is awesome the scenary was incredible and the waters were crystal clear. There are plenty of places to stop off along the way and take in the awesome scenary.Written 26 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Katherine B2 contributionsThis was our first Montana Ski experience and we will be back! What a treasure Bridger Bowl is. Friends of mine had told me it’s a “hidden gem” and isn’t that the truth! Bridger Bowl makes a Montana ski experience possible for big families. You get incredible mountain skiing experiences for a great price. So many options at the multiple chalets to eat and hang out. Great staff all around, everyone is friendly! Really fun skiing, excellent snow and well groomed runs, and plenty of options for all levels of skiers. We had 5 teenagers on the trip and they were highly satisfied and impressed, not always an easy accomplishment!Written 16 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MaryAlice H6 contributionsOur family of 6 had the most incredible time with Julia as our fearless guide! It was all of our first time white water rafting and it was the perfect amount of adventure, excitement and beauty. Seeing a bald eagle flying overhead at the start of our trip added to the amazing experience.Written 25 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathleen W2 contributionsThis is an outstanding interesting museum! We pulled in as we were driving by, and were we glad we did! This was a jail and even had interesting history about the buildings on Main Street, doctors and pioneer life to name a few. There was a bookstore as well. This is a must stop place while visiting Bozeman! You won’t be disappointed. You can go in the isolation area for prisoners, read what they wrote on the walls, see the tunnel 6 prisoners escaped from, and read about the most famous double murder and his fate. Interesting and a little creepy, but a must see!Written 24 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ccsfamilyGeneva, IL353 contributionsThe theater was having a “yard” sale in the back of the theater the day we flew into Bozeman. Since we love exploring, we took time to walk around the alley to go to the sale. We had a wonderful visit with the people who helped restore this old theater. My hometown recently restored an old movie theater so it was great to see this happening in other parts of the U.S.Written 5 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chandra GJohnston, Iowa40 contributionsThis is a 1.2 mile (one way) gradual incline hike, well maintained trail. It’s well worth the hike to see Grotto falls. Not a big falls, not many people around. Cool canyon views and rock formations. Pack a lunch and enjoy it near Hyalite recreational area. Road leading to the trail is gravel and not a smooth ride.Written 30 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Justine28Yellowknife, Canada2,267 contributionsWe visited the Distillery on Christmas Eve and it was one of the few places open later in the afternoon (till 4-5pm). We did a taster flight which came with 4 samples of our choosing. The staff were helpful when making the selection. What we tasted was actually really nice and smooth, and we ended up buying some full-size bottles and some sample-size as gifts. Would highly recommend when in Bozeman.Written 9 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
