Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- RJ Ske11 contributionsMy family and I were visiting some friends in Valparaiso, and we decided to check out Gabis Arboretum pretty last minute. It ended up being one of our favorite parts of our trip. The scenery is gorgeous, filled with many types of vibrant plants and flowers. We also had several people enjoy the interactive elements, like the outdoor percussion equipment, and climbing web. Another highlight is the beautifully crafted train station models that are located right behind the welcome center. The setup of the waterfalls flowing behind the moving trains is very detailed, and is fun to watch.
Next time you’re in the local area, definitely check this out. Super family friendly, and also great for getting in some steps while enjoying the surrounding environment.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We arrived on the Valparaiso U campus to visit the art museum, but were immediately drawn to the Chapel building which caught our eye the minute we arrived on campus. The exterior is interesting, from the prominent star-shaped roof with its multi-story stained glass windows that are reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright windows. We walked along the east side of the building to examine the windows as well as the adjacent campus bell tower before entering from the north through the small chapel that opens up into the main santuary. Everywhere we looked, there was something awesome to take in! The main altar and crucifix. The 95-feet-tall stained glass windows. The golden lamps hanging from the ceiling. The balcony that surrounds the main seating area. The mammoth church organ with all its pipes. We spent a good 30 minutes walking around and taking in all the beautiful design elements. We walked down the spiral staircase that surrounds the baptistry. Stunning design!! On that level, there is a hallway filled with historical photos and documents telling the story of the chapel through the years.Written 2 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicole R2 contributionsGreat little museum in the middle of downtown. I was lucky enough to go on a day that curator was there- he was very friendly, gave me more insight into the exhibits, as well as giving me several restaurant locations when I asked. On my way out, he gave me a copy of their magazine which made for a nice read on the airplane- all local history stories. Great way to spend 1+ hours. Will definitely check out their next exhibit next time I'm in town.Written 22 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 5possum123Valparaiso, IN26 contributionsI took my girls (both mothers of twins) for a needed relaxing afternoon. The winery was festive and just what we had hoped for. We got a table, and each picked out 4 wines for tasting as we sat back and enjoyed the ambience and live music playing. As our generous wine pours arrived, we ordered several appetizers which were all delicious! Next, we chose a bottle of one of our favorite wines to share and enjoyed the remainder of the afternoon. Take a break and enjoy some wine.Written 18 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Vork TravelSaint Louis, MO337 contributionsWe had a great time here! We split a flight and then got full pours. They have a lot of different varieties, and all the ones I tried were pretty good. The pb&j was amazing! It is one of my favorite meads ever. The decor is fun, and they have a nice outdoor section.Written 31 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MidwestKathMDetroit, MI1,086 contributionsThis university art museum has an eclectic collection of American art stretching over 3 centuries from the late 1800s to the present. As an architecture lover, I appreciate the Louis Sullivan "entrance" behind the reception desk. The Junius Sloan gallery and associated Sloan gifts like the Frederic Church painting provide a good look at the Hudson River Valley style. The American Impressionism mini-gallery features three stunning works by Robert Reid, Karl Anderson, and Childe Hassam. The Celebrating Black Artists exhibition is filled with wonderful and interesting pieces from such artists as Faith Ringgold, Richard Hunt, Danny Campbell, Romare Bearden, and Kara Walker. I enjoy American 20th century art, and I was not disappointed with the likes of Georgia O'Keeffe, William Glackens, Helen Frankenthaler, Elaine de Kooning, Jim Dine, Andy Warhol. We drove 4 hours to visit this museum and we were happily surprised with the works on display. And we know that there are more in the collection that might be on display should we have another chance to visit! The museum is small enough that you can see all the works displayed in a single visit, but the works are interesting enough to keep you looking and thinking (or discussing, if you are visiting with a companion).Written 3 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Judy4769Cedar Rapids, IA17 contributionsDon’t miss Valparaiso University Cathedral, Purdue’s arboretum and 4 Corners winery! Fabulous! We went 4 times to the winery and loved meeting “Otis” the rooster! Owner is a great gal we were fortunate to meet. Attended a church service at the Cathedral. Beautiful! Miniature train only runs on weekends in the fall but still VERY neat!Written 30 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kelly CathcartValparaiso, IN1,191 contributionsThis park is wonderful. There is easy parking, walking trails in and out of the woods. There are a few farm animals to see as well. There is a kids learning center, and playground. There is a barn stage where they host music in the summer. There is work currently being done to add a model railroad to the park. Bathrooms are available as well.Written 23 March 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
