Was a great trip - went on a whim - my son loves rvs. Super neat to see how far they have come through the years - and how they are similar. Also nice that you can visit a factory too while in the area.

The incredible architecture, the history, the absolutely stunning mahogany throughout the mansion, the attention to detail…all explained by concise, knowledgeable and attentive guides. We so enjoyed the tour!

We visited this museum about 5 years ago and so enjoyed it that we made a return trip. What a wonderful collection of train memorabilia and history. We especially liked wandering amidst the old train cars and engines outside in the yard. Admission is a mere $6, and $5 for seniors. We highly recommend a visit. Allow about 90 minutes to 2 hours.

Our daughter inlaw got tickets for here, we went the first Saturday it opened! Because we had tickets already we got to skip the long line. From the moment you walk through the tent all you see is beautiful Christmas lights on trees etc. It is a paved path you follow around a pond. The lights reflecting off the water is awesome! Our little granddaughter loved running ahead she is 2. Grandson had fun on the different picture taking boards. People were very nice stopping to let us take pictures! Would love to go back in the spring to see the gardens in bloom. Oh, please note you park in a different lot and walk down to the gardens, it's a short walk. I would recommend you get tickets online so you don't have to wait in line for them.

Really impressive. Art you will fall in love with, as we did. The gallery is small but so well curated. It's a joy.

We highly recommend stopping here, especially if it's your first trip to the area. Lots of info and even a CD to follow along with as you travel the heritage trail.

Lori at the welcome center was above amazing with her knowledge and friendliness!! You are very lucky to have her!!

    Will be back again!!

I attended with my granddaughter for a school field trip recently. They did a nice job educating third-graders on the necessity of reducing and recycling. We could not walk the trails due to the current EEE virus possibility. It's a great place to take kids for the education experience.

Great house to visit, but what is really impressive are the massively high ceilings and the huge windows and doors. The second owner actually raised the ceilings on the ground floor 30" and the second floors ceilings 2' -- without touching the roof! It is a beautiful house with stunning architectural tidbits

GR8 2 SK8 at Downtown Elkhart's Winterfest Weekend at NIBCO Ice & Water the first weekend in December. First there's the Lights of Christmas Parade, then Lighting of Downtown Elkhart's tall Christmas Tree, followed by the figure skating show by Irish Figure Skating Club, IrishFSC.org.

Family was staying overnight in the Elkhart area while traveling. Decided to stop by and visit the Hall of Heroes Museum while we were in the area. Admittedly, the visit was more for myself than my wife and daughters, but they did enjoy the experience as well.

Museum isn't overly large, but they fit a great deal of history and material in the space that they have. Museum is set-up that the displays are mostly in chronological order as well as dividing things into categories of Marvel, DC, and other. A wide collection of pictures, comics, figurines, toys, and other various odds and ends. They host some authentic memorabilia, such as costumes and props from the movies. Numerous autographed items as well. Very impressive collection, especially for comic enthusiasts who may recognized a lot of the stuff.

Addtionally, the museum has a small arcade area that includes about a half dozen video games and 4-5 pinball machines. Games are all unlimited free play, which my daughters (and myself) enjoyed playing after touring through the museum. Spent about an hour in the museum and another ~30 minutes playing the games. Got only $10 per person, the experience was well worth our time and money.
