Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location of Laas Geel provokes a real sense of "stepping back in time". Seeing the cave/rock artwork of our ancestors makes one realise that, in the bigger picture, 10000 years is nothing at all.

The market is very scenic and traditional. There was a huge numbers of cattle, specially camels and goats. The vendors were nice and took some pics with me.

I spent about 45 minutes looking at the displays here. The museum is small, but tries hard to explain the history.

There are good photos from the war fir independence from the British and the war waged by Somalia against Somaliland, and the aerial bombing that razed Hargeisa by SA and Rhodesian pilots.

Also some old passports, bank notes, medals, etc. snd a few tribal artifacts.

There is also a picture display with text about the stunning prehistoric rock art at Las Gheel.

    Well worth a visit.

I started to stroll through this market alone. A young man who spoke English offered to guide me for a small fee. He was knowledgeable about the market. I wasn't here to buy anything only to observe. I like visiting native markets.

A souvenir from the Somaliland War of Independence. Somalia bombed the city with russian Mig planes and completely ruined it.

Two entrances. One for the bank on the main road and one on the side road for people going to the mall and restaurant. Security will check your on both entrances. Staff upstairs in the mall restaurant are friendly. Coffee is good. Staff in the bank are a little slow but areven generally good with customer service.

Unfortunately this monument is not in the center. You can see it on the eastern side if you travel from the center to the airport, about halfway. The idea is great but it should be moved and restored.

I had a great couple of days in Somalialnd with this Company - a very competent guide and perfect organisation - highly recommended. They can help with Visa, hotels, tours etc. so you basically can let them arrange the whole experience
