Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Millian CChicago, IL4 contributionsStopped in to see a Cubs game while on a baseball road trip. What an amazing stadium. We found it easy to get to using the Chicago L subway system. For such an old and iconic stadium it is unbelievably clean! Even the brick looks fresh. Every usher we met was friendly and helpful as well. We truly enjoyed the game and just the Chicago Cubs experience as well.Written 8 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelinFieldGuySilicon Valley, California243 contributionsIn December, come at night for "ZooLights", when the place is lit up with literally millions of Christmas lights. You have to get tickets online, but on Mondays they are free. This makes a great family activity!
We came up on the the CTA bus #151 from our hotel near the Mag Mile, then had dinner at the wonderful "Mon Ami Gabi" French restaurant just a block from the zoo entrance before heading in. Folks who have visited Las Vegas might know the name of this restaurant. Turns out, the original is in Chicago, and it is even more fabulous!
The lights are magical! And the place is packed with locals who enjoy this winter institution. Allow about one to two hours for you tour of the lights within the zoo.
So if you are in Chicago in the Christmas season, head north to Lincoln Park and enjoy this wonderful local winter institution. If you have the time (and don't mind spending some $$$), enjoy a dinner at Mon Ami Gabi before or after your visit.Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I arrived at 2pm, and the wonderful movie showed at every hour through 1:30 and then. It again until 3:30! So I missed it.
Haha. This is a good municipal
And Americana Museum with a focus on the Midwest American experience of
Immigration.
I liked especially the sensitive but not overly patronizing sensitivity to the American Indians’ loss of basically
everything to this “American experience” of westward expansion and growth.Written 30 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We enjoyed the views of Chicago’s skyscrapers, and this park was well manicured with its plants, its paths, and its fountains. There was even a restaurant within this park. We could also see great views of Lake Michigan. We felt uneasy when we walked through this park at night, and it was empty after sundown occurred.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Potomac_11Potomac, MD472 contributionsWe took the short, pleasant walk here from the Lincoln Park Zoo and it was well worth it. Many exotic and interesting plants to see, and free admission.Written 11 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Taylor BChicago, IL8,478 contributionsMy wife and I are very fortunate. We live in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, three blocks from North Avenue Beach, one of the city's most popular destinations for swimming, sun-bathing, biking, kayaking, jogging, roller blading, walking and other water activities. And don't forget sight-seeing. Located at 1600 North Lake Shore Drive, at North Avenue, North Avenue Beach offers a postcard picture view of Chicago's skyline, of Navy Pier and Lake Point Tower and the Drake Hotel and the Hancock building and the lakefront and Lake Michigan. The crown jewel of the beach is the ocean liner-inspired, 22,000-square-foot beach house that boasts restrooms, changing facilities, ATMs, beach retailers, private cabanas, rentals and the newly renovated Castaways Beach Club, a two-story restaurant and rooftop bar. Beach volleyball is a very popular activity. Established in 1934, North Avenue Beach is the hub for the annual Air & Water Show, a two-day event in mid-August that attracts over a million people to the lakefront. But plan accordingly. North Avenue Beach has a small parking lot with a pay gate. Plan on arriving early to land a spot or, better yet, take public transportation. The 22 Clark, 36 Broadway, 72 North, 73 Armitage, 151 Sheridan and 156 LaSalle CTA bus routes all offer access to North Avenue Beach.Written 28 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TennisStar602New Jersey712 contributionsMy family and I traversed through this area before and after we went to Wrigley Field. This neighborhood felt safe, and it was very dense with pedestrian traffic and police patrols. It was difficult to find parking. There was an abundance of stores, of restaurants, and of bars. I admired the large number of apartment buildings which faced Wrigley Field. This area was extremely walkable.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- CheekyLondonSouthend-on-Sea, UK1,658 contributionsWe went here to see the Blue Man Group. It was a very unusual and interesting show. The people we were with didn't think it was up to the previous Blue Man show that they had seen, but we had no comparison so we thought it was a bit of fun. The theatre is very basic with scaffold style appearance. There is a small bar and a small gift shop. They are very strict about showing covid certificates and wearing masks.Written 8 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BaggageConveyorBeltKansas City, MO445 contributionsWent to comedy and music shows at Lincoln Hall.
Terrific staff, great sightline of the stage, and excellent sound. Great bar, clean restrooms, great location. I had floor seats - far side for one show, center aisle for another.
I didn't check out the balcony, but people up there seemed happy during the shows.
Be sure to check out the Dillinger mural in the alley across the street!Written 15 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
