Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful to walk the mile from the John Hancock building to Millennium Park to check out “The Bean”. We checked out various stores along the way and enjoyed the holiday lights. Parking was easy as we prepaid (so you save money!) at One Millennium Mile Parking at 120 E. Walton St. Super Efficient!

We had done the skydeck as well a couple of days before. The 360 has great views, just from a different point in the sky. The advantage here was being able to see in all directions.
And then you can have a go on the tilt, great fun

As expected, full of tourists (like us). However, it was great fun. We popped on and off a few times as we had boat rides from here.
We also rode a couple of rides, the wheel was worth it.

The Dreihaus is a lavish and elegant monument to the Gilded Age. I have wanted to visit the last few times I have been in Chicago, but its limited visiting days have precluded this until now. A guided tour provides the intricate details of each room’s construction, purpose, and history, and the extremely knowledgeable guides are well worth the extra $5. This museum is a compact jewel in the heart of the Magnificent Mile area, full of Tiffany glass, exotic woods, expensive and extensive tiles, and much more. On the day of my tour, the holiday decorations (week after Thanksgiving) and solid Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit on the second floor were icing on the cake.

This is an excellent time to visit Cathedrals, as the summer weather often allows for more comfortable exploration and photography. A perfect time to appreciate their architectural beauty and historical significance.

Beautiful area to walk / run / jog or dog walk. The boats are great and pass close to the shore so it’s always a vibrant and exciting place.

I didn’t expect this at all in the middle of Chicago. I’m still blown away. The water and the city was such a vibe.

Must stop when you’re in Chicago. It was the highlight of my trip.

Chairs are $20 for the day and we’ll worth it. I stayed at The Drake which is just a stones throw away so could easily head to my room to use the restroom.

The Whispers restaurant on the beach has good food and drinks.

We went as a family but my husband and I did a lot of shopping with just a few of our adult kids. Black Friday shopping was fun and everyone was festive and having fun.

If you plan to go to Navy Pier Chicago, don't miss the Chicago Children's Museum. My son loved it. It has all kinds of activities for children. Prepare to stay there at least 3 hours because children don't want to leave. The museum is inside a mall. The ticket is all day multiple entry. There is a food court outside the museum.

Who knew such a wonderful theater was tucked into the old Water Tower! We saw Lucie and Charlie’s Honeymoon and absolutely Loved It! So original. So inventive. This theatre is a hidden gem!

Went to the Lord of the Rings Play here in celebration of my daughter's 21st birthday. She is a big Lord of the Rings fan and she really had a great time! Before the show they even had specialty drinks with LOTR names. It was so cute! The play, acting and performance were all top notch and very entertaining. We had seats A19 and A20 and the views were perfect. The cast was engaging and fun! The dancing was also breathtaking! A truly amazing time!

Historic home of Chicago Tribune newspaper dominates the landscape of Chicago downtown for many years. Built for Chicago Tribune owner Robert R. McCormick and recently sold, it is home to luxury residences these days. The architecture is a truly remarkable example of the Gothic Revival style created by famous architect, Raymond Hood and his firm. The top of the tower is designed after the Tour de Beurre beurre of the Rouen Cathedral. Another notable feature of this spectacular skyscraper is its elaborate Neo-Gothic arched portal. Magnificent gem of Chicago and not to be missed.

Clean beach with great views of the city. Pretty crowded on a hot day, but we still found a spot in the shade. You may want to get there early for a beach umbrella.

This is the place to go if you are in the market for new, high end kitchen appliances or remodel fixtures and you want to see them and talk to peopel who know the differences between all the diff models/products. For those of us who live in small markets and can't actually see the actual appliances and are left to guess with either sales people who don't know squat (eg. Best Buy or small appliance stores that hire your college student on vacation), this is the place to go to really shop.

Make an appointment with all the show rooms and have them tell you about their products. They don't actually sell you the product, but they are very knowledgeable. Thermador, Bosch, Miele, Wolf, Monogram, Dakor, Waterworks, you name it, it's there.

One stop shopping with people who know their stuff.
